Root temporary root for the evo?

hi guys, im just wondering if there's a temp root available to the evo. im running stock with everything up to date. i dont wanna completely root yet till the gingerbread os releases. thanks.

z4 root grants temp root, but not sure if it works on the evo.

it works. it is just that it is temporary until you reboot your phone. also it only allows only rooted apps to be used. you cannot flash a custom rom or kernel.

awesome guys. do you guys know where i can find the app? also, would wireless tether work? if so could the link for that also be provided? id just like to use it for wifi tethering occasionally. thanks!

it should just make sure you grant it superuser permissions

so i tried it i dont think it works. nothing happened... the app ran, phone rebooted, then tried wireless tether. no dice

yah it said that. rebooted. then nothing lol. phone still looks the same uninstalled both apps. sigh. ill wait for gingerbread then root with uneroked hopefully

i agree... if youre going to delve into the world of slight root, then going full bore isnt that much different. i honestly think that youll enjoy having a custom rom. itll remove all the bloatware in 1 fell swoop (i.e. nascar app, nfl app, others that i cant recall cuz theyve been gone for so long) its your call, but man, this forum has some serious root experts that can get ya where ya need to be with full root, partial root is such a non-discussed topic in here that i think youll find a ton more help with full root

and unrevoked is such an easy process when you follow the rooting for dummies guide... i knew jack squat about this at the beginning of the year, but now is a waaaaaay different story
