I do not use the app

With a good amount of the bloat removed,I wondered if it (OVERCLOCKING)was actually necessary.Gonna run w/o it for a day or two to compare.I've noticed one problem I've enconntered since O/C.In-coming calls have been erratic,(screen lights up,I see the #,but not the name of caller, short rings w/no time to unlock & answer). That's why I'm not using task mgrs.,killers,etc.I suspect its like having one worker, but having seven bosses all telling you different ways to do the same thing, the phone then says "Screw you guys,I'm going home."Perhaps OVERCLOCKING may have this effect on certain functions. Not basing this on anything,it's just a guess. Will update in a couple of days.

Here is a link to a guide for Overclock Widget that I used:

[Guide] How to Set Up Overclock Widget

I know the link is from the UK but it works great for my phone.

The only adjustments I made were the first 2. Min should be 600000 and Max should be 600000. You will not see the 680000 talked about in the guide cause it is not available for our phones. The max that our CPU's can run is 600000hz (600Mhz) so that is what the max speed will allow in the App.

Hope this helps.

Just to add my 2 cents to this convo:

I used SetCPU to overclock and my settings are at:

600 Mhz max

245 Mhz min

Phone works great. Speed picked up slightly...not a lot but enough to notice.

CPU Booster is free at the market...works the same.

Yeah that is the rec for Min speed in that guide I linked, but I found that the CPU only runs at the Min speed of 245 (???) so I made the adjustment and I'm forcing the CPU to only run at 600Mhz when awake.

I notice improved speed with it too.

Oh yeah? That's good to hear. So do you have it set to 600 max and 600 min too?

Yes I have it set for 600 max and min. It forces it to run at 600 when the screen is on and slows down to 245 when resting. The idea is that you save battery while resting and get speed while using the phone.

Well, wouldn't the min be 245 even if you didn't have it set to 600 min? I mean...the min is the min ....just sayin...LOL
