PLZ i beg you

Thanks for the idea guys. Lemme look into adding this... feel free to bump this if I don't do it soon ;)

+1

Yeah!

Thanks is a cool add-on for sure and would probably do well here on a cell phone forum. On some sites that deal with politics, chat, etc, where clique's thrive, the thanks button can cause issues....i don't see that here though.

I think the Thanks would be nice as well. Not sure how to even view the rep to see if that makes any difference in trusting someone's reply.

Eventually you will get more and more rep "pips" the more rep comments you get. So you got this now

eventually you get more....

reputation_pos.gif
reputation_pos.gif
reputation_pos.gif
reputation_pos.gif
reputation_pos.gif
reputation_pos.gif

and so on...

to view rep comments left FOR YOU from others, just click the "user cp" up there in the navigation. on the first page you hit the comments will be listed there.

The Reputation system shows you the reputation that you have received. Go to Android Forums to see the rep you have received (I haven't gotten a lot here, but I am a n00b, so.... :p )

Over at Seven Forums, they implemented a dual version, where it shows both recent rep you have received as well as recent rep you have given - so you can see not only who's been kind but who you have been kind to....

Something like that may make it easier to work with the rep system here, especially as both sites are running the same BB software, from what I can tell...

EDIT: Added the following

Hmm, seems the image system always re-sizes images, making them hard to read - for example, my signature pic....and the image above.

More about this in another post.

the thanks option is an easy and simple addon that can be found on vb.org. since the buttons here seem to be basic vbulletin, there shoudnt be any issues. plus its no drain on the server

I don't really like the Idea of a thanks button , The Rep button is Good enough and what I prefer

the difference between the rep button and the rep system is the following

the lil add rep emblem is not really visible to many, most users never run there mouse ove the emblem to see what it does. while the thanks button is more visible

the rep system is more general, as where the thanks button is more post specific and the rest of the community can see who helped when a user posts a question

the hack also brings a thanks count that goes in the user postbit that shows how many times the user has been helpful

the user's profile also displays the amount of times the user has been thanked

i get the feeling that the admin's don't want a thanks button and i tend to agree for such a busy forum. and i am sure they know what it is and how it works.

lol - I hate to sound negative, but I liked the scales better. It allowed me to say *why* I was giving rep (or, conversely, adding negative rep).

Ah, well. At least the plus side is that 1) I can see it a lot easier, and 2) it adds a remark underneath the post saying you thanked the OP for it....

not many people knew about the scales though, but i did like the comments.

Also all my scales thanks have been lost!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Go to your profile by clicking your name, on the right click "show all statistics".. and the option is in there. :)

to wake this thread up i feel as though there is wasted space amongst our posts.

i love how clear and easy to read the posts are and how many posts are on a page within a thread, but still feel like there is usable space.
