Looking for a thread in here where a guy details all the stuff you can do with an evo just on wifi and no phone service.

Haven't seen the thread, but as long as you have WiFi its basically a small tablet.

My brother found apps to text and incoming calls over wifi with a google number. Not on the evo but on a samsung music player like the i pod.

yeah i have not tried it but there are plenty of voip apps out that can use wifi to make phone calls now.

google talk is great for voip provided the other person has an android phone with google talk.....i don't really use it though for that....i use it for texting....which you can do as well.

Try Spare Phone with Google Voice or Talkatone with Google Voice.

Viber is good if the other person you are talking to has the Viber app on their phone.

FYI i am using ubersinic since I have no carrier plan so far I like it but found I could not pair my jawbone Bluetooth
So looking for suggestions of JB or ICS roms where a2dp works
Also for those with experience does JB give any advantage over ICS

I'm a flashaholic so I'm always looking for something new to try if I think it might be as good or better than what I'm currently using. Instead of trying to explain the difference between ICS and JB I posted a link to a site I use from time to time that will give you some detail.

tried dirty unicorn last week but phone would not boot. went to re download today but looks like it was pulled. Any other links to the Rom or is it dead?

Here is the new link. I'm still using this rom and it is working well. About the only change I've made was to bump the speeds up a bit.
