The best camera in the world...

My boss had us make some on Sunday and was inspired to make the same recipe today with some tweaks (used a whole wheat sour in place of a pate fermente). Adjusted the yeast amount as well. Gotta say I'm pretty happy. :)
Also, as much as they touted having to use food grade lye to soak em, I went with regular cause I like to roll the dice. Not dead yet!

Today is the first spring like day, in the low sixties and sunny. We drove to the south west of the Netherlands, where's islands and river deltas.

The isles got flooded in the fifties, taking a lot of lifes and homes.
So they built this ingenious project named Delta Works, to protect our land against the force of the North Sea, in bad weather.

Goal of our trip was a mill, which grinds flower, wheat and seeds, for our home made bread :p

These pics from the first half of last century come from public Dutch online city archives. A time when getting your picture taken was still special; you would pose for one, until eternity. I love these old pics.

I had to explain to some kids why they re in black/white ;)

A couple of photos of my wife shearing one of our Shetland sheep. This is Chone and his fleece is very nice this year...about 5 to 6 inches long. It's black with brown highlights. My wife spins the wool and knits all sorts of stuff. Taken with my wife's Galaxy S3.

A colleague borrowed my old 35mm Nikon for his daughter who is doing a photography course. Apparently, her first question when she used it was where to find the picture preview option.

Makes me feel very old realising most 17 year-olds have never used a non-digital camera

I love film! That said, I always think I'd like to bust out my Canon Elan 7e and buy some film but it never seems to happen. One of these days I'm going to though...

Witness of the first steps of Galloway calf Valerie, encouraged by her mommy Lucia. Cousin Vanessa is watching her closely. They are kept for ecological wildlife conservation in my community.

Added: I don't know if this is a worldwide rule or something? Pedigree cattle are all given a name starting with the letter V this season, next season will be the next in the alphabet. Like with hurricanes.

Yeah. Cropped to hell and back but a Red Tail hawk was having a rabbit on the side of the road!

My wife uses a drum carder to process wool sheared from our sheep. Problem is...it's run with a hand-crank which can be tiring (see photo in link above). She wanted it to be motorized. Using the motor, pulleys, belts and foot pedal from an old sewing machine I rigged up a solution that works fairly well. Just need to convert the wiring to include a safety ground as this old machine was two-wire only. Taken with a Samsung Galaxy S4.
