The Case Thread

I wouldn't consider exchanging my DeviceWear Ridge case for a sleeve. The N7 sort of 'snaps' into the back part of the case and the 'flap' folds over the front. The inside of the 'flap' is a soft material that is kind to the screen. When I set the tablet aside I close the 'flap' which both protects the screen and 'shuts off' the N7. With a sleeve I would have to remember to slide the N7 in to protect it. I suspect the weight difference would be trivial.

Have you inspected the case surface matching the scratched screen location and found anything abrasive embedded in it? If you had a small diamond or a grain of carbide trapped there, I would believe your claim ;); otherwise, I think you may unjustly be blaming the case for a scratch caused by something else.

Got my blue Seidio case & cover today - fits like a charm just like the one on my 2012 N7. And it works with my Tylt wireless charger.
 
Found the Portenzo case for my 2012 N7 so when I got the 2013 N7, I ordered another one right away. I love their cases...a little pricey but I figured what I saved on the N7 vs an :stupid:iPad, it was worth it. www.portenzo.com
 
My Poetic slim case arrived in the mail yesterday. I love everything about it, except that AWFUL chrome "Poetic" emblem on the front. Alas, for the price ($15 Amazon) and the function (sleep/wake) I will compromise. Still, I'm going to start thinking of ways to get rid of the emblem. Looks like maybe I can get under it with an exacto knife and peel it away. Just not sure what the end result will be.
 
Got my Nexus 7 and poetic case for Christmas and am really liking it. But, I'm looking for another type of case. I'd like one that would also hold a pad of paper, either the standard 8x11 pad or the smaller 5x7 pad. I've been googling aroud but have not found anything yet. Anyone ever found anything like this?

Yeah, I meant to mention it was pricey. The search term I used for that was "Nexus 7 case with notebook." I'll try a few others, ideally one with the magnetic on/off functionality.
 
Poetic Slimline here as well. The N7 is such a slim tablet to begin with and the Poetic case continues that design theme. Next best thing to going naked!
 
I bought an ESR smart cover in Beijing for my N7 2, highly recommend it if you can get it in your country. Very solid good protection and cheap; 79 yuan, around US$13

Check this out, this is the one I wanted, but had to go with a slightly cheaper one for now.
 
I picked up a Cirago slim fit case at Microcenter. It was an open box return on clearance for $16.


I'm withdrawing my vote for this case. I've gone through two of them and there is clearly a manufacturing defect. Within a month, both cases had a corner simply pop off. Not from dropping or bending or inserting/removing the cover....a piece of the corner just literally popped off. From two separate cases.

I just got it and I agree it's a great case, I love the feel of the tablet in it.

It's not that bulky at all in my opinion, I tried the Moko slim fit and the revolution was the same thickness, I returned the Moko because the Revolution is better.

I love the Revolution, I just wish the stand would stan IN better. It's always flopping open.

I'm starting to notice that the screen cover scratches pretty easy. It keeps the screen protected, but I'm planning to keep it in the case for a good while and I will be staring at scratches.
