Touch Pro2 vs Andriod EVO! SHOWOFF?

Well honestly... no comparison. i haven't been touching the tp2 ever since i got the Evo. I only use it because people still call me on that line and i want to use up the free trail before swapping my line. the Evo feels slicker. got plenty of people asking me what phone i'm using. I tell them "It's limited edition for now"! hahaha

Browsing experience with multitouch is a gem. When i got the touch prow i thought it was a crazy big phone and that it will do everything i needed. After using multitouch, DAMN the whole world changed! I love the zooming and the internet browsing experience on the Evo. Multitouch function and the flawless rendering makes the phone a must have. The touch pro2 will definitely loose in this competition.

The only part that i see the touch Pro2 winning is the dual speakers. The dual speakers is better and louder with more UMPHHH than the Evo. I don't know what it's like when the Evo is rooted. Possibly we can have some audiopara hack that will make the speakerphone louder. I've hacked mt TP2 to be @ the loudest possible. Evo isn't close to being as loud and clear. But it's still livable!
 
I know the EVO will be way better than the TP2. I don't even know how to zoom in on the browser on the TP2. LOL! Can't wait to use the EVO's. I want to install Dolphin browser too. I can't wait to get this phone!

LOL, yup, see that one all the time. Have figured out though that it mostly *mostly* happens when I run Pandora, think it is supposed to be that way, asuming if I say I want to buy something in Pandora, the MP3 store handles it.

You have me beat, have had my Hero for 3 days, but planning on showing up at a Sprint store first thing June 4.

SD card classes only rate the minimum WRITE speed, has nothing to do with read speed.

It really shouldn't give any problems with reading just pictures as you can record 720p video to class 2 card and reading is faster than writing.
 
I have a few dealer lines available to me. Had a hero for a little while and an env touch as well. After 30 days are up w this phone I will apply it to my dealer line.

I am supposed to be sleep. See what a new phone does to me!!!!

I'm tested this in the dark.

There is definitely light leakage around the bottom of the screen.
(Screen on)There is a spot under each button where I can see through the black of the screen.
Kinda like it only has "one coat of paint on it".

(Screen on)There is light leakage around the edges, also.

Also, when I turn the screen off, I can see the touch button icons illuminated slightly.

I don't find these to be a deal breaker.
Just wanted to pass it along.

don't care about the light leakage since i'm sure that putting a case over it will block it out completely. what i hate is knowing that the icons stay dimly lit! that's a pain. drains battery too
 
Quick some fotos of the leakage before the sun comes out =]

Also for users who might deem their units defective and return it thinking the leakage isn't normal. TIA
 
Can you go to the HDMI out settings and tell me what they say. Does it mention anything about showing video and pics only. I heard there was an option for showing all which I assume would be menu and OS. This could be true considering I watched a video were a guy plugged in an EVO to stream pictures and the menu wasn't showing on the TV. The menu to change the photo's was viewable on the EVO though.
 
Is there away in the settings to have the weather animations play more in the background then only when you swipe to unlock the screen. Like when you open then close an app? I am new to Android and HTC...:cool: Thanks

What I would like is for someone who has the Evo is to post the voltage of the charger. I have several chargers (& 1 car charger) for my HTC Touch that are mini USB but I don't know if they are the appropriate voltage for the Evo.

But then again, what voltage does a PC USB connection output? Does any of this really matter?

Evo uses MICRO Usb not mini usb.

Finally - someone here older than me and also admits to being a geek!! :D The move from BB Tour to Hero was difficult at first but I can't wait for the EVO now- and my Premiere Upgrade date is the 14th - I gotta wait!! :eek: Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Hey Chief, a lot of people have said that if you call Sprint, they will move your upgrade up as long as it is no more than 2 weeks early. Sounds like that's perfect for you! And then you won't have to wait! Here's to hoping you get your EVO next Friday!

Ah, thanks for that, but the 14th IS the two week bonus! ;) Oh, well - if patience is a virtue I will be growing virtuous - that and frustrated at waiting! I appreciate your suggestion.
