The HTC EVO 4G off-topic Banter thread

I have a cradle now for my TP2 where you sit the phone right in the cradle and it has an extra slot in the back for my battery. I am sure one will come out for this phone. I can use the extra battery slot on my cradle too if I keep it. But it won't charge the phone itself my TP2 is mini usb. But someone said there interested in my phone on Craigs List and I will get more from them then from Sprint and will throw in all my accessories. My phone has a little chip on the side at the bottom and I sent the guy pictures. I hope he wants it cause if so I'll gard reset it now sell it now and go back to my Lotus until I get my EVO.

How does it work with SYNC? I have a F150.

Thanks for the posts.

I haven't tested it with SYNC, yet, but I'm sure it will work like the other HTC devices I've owned.
I could stream my music over the speakers, play, pause, FF, Rewind, voice dial with the button on the steering wheel, answer and hang up.

don't forget if you are in a 3g only area to check and see if you can disable the 4g radio. might save on the battery just a tad if you forgot.

Nice pix on your FB page. I really havent done much with the camera yet. I still have the plastic covering it, kuz im scared it'll get scratched. Cant wait til those official cases come out.

I do not have an EVO yet but I have heard some HTC Incredible users blaming excessive battery drain on the "Friend Stream" application. Removing this widget greatly improved their battery life as the Friend Stream app runs constantly in the background sending and receiving data from multiple sites (flicker, facebook, twitter, and etc). I cannot remember where I had read this info and I do not have an Android device yet, but it's something you might look at. I am curious as to your findings on this as well since I will be getting my EVO on the 4th.

WOO HOO!!

And I'll soon be joining your ranks, thanks to eBay!

Dare I ask how much?

$600 - That's about the going rate right now. There's about 10 more whose auctions will end within the next 3 hours.... more that'll end within 5-6 hours.

I'm not eligible for an upgrade, so couldn't pre-order from Best Buy, leaving me only with the $500 Radio Shack option. I'm in Chicago, which has the highest sales tax in the nation. That brings my out of pocket cost to $550.

So I'm fairly satisfied. Was it more than I would have paid? Yes, but I get it sooner and am fine with that trade-off.

The one on the right. That looks like an adapter for mini to micro, which is a good thing to have. My office has tons of mini-usb cables, it's nice to know that if the micro-usb cable that came w/ the phone shorts out, I have another solution.
FYI, a mini to micro USB adapter is available on eBay for $.99 shipped. I am gonna go with a few of these bad boys so I don't have to replace all of my USB cables.

I already have one for my Blackberry 8900, but am selling it w/ the phone since I lost the micro-usb cable that came w/ it. Make sure to NOT get one w/ a cord, just the "box". The cord shorted on one of my adapters, glad I bought two, but regret not just buying the smaller adapter.
