The HTC EVO 4G off-topic Banter thread

The WiFi on my EVO works great. Are any of you guys having the problems these people are having?

This is what I was getting about 100 feet from my router outside in the yard.

I am new to the android market and this might be a silly question. My wife called me from her work with a work number I have not entered into my phone as of yet. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to simply add that work number to the contacts or people to be specific. I always end up with a new number in my people list. I know I can simply add the number the old fashion way, but a phone like this there has to be something I am missing.

Thank you

Click on the Phone button on the main screen. Find your wifes number. Click on the + symbol. select save to existing contact.

Wow, could it have been any simpler. Hey, thanks for the help. I figured there had to be a solution.

I like this place!

New to the community, Should be getting my EVO in July... my friend SHO_ONE has been toting his around and I'm definatly picking one up.... He's been on this forum almost everyday so when he asked me to vote for his review I signed up and here I am!!!

I have the Pre now and really like the gesture area, but could use a bigger screen. SHO tells me the gameloft apps aren't on the market place yet... Why?!?! I thought Android was everywhere... anyway.... Nice to be here and go vote for SHO_ONE's review on Dolphin HD!!!

Apparently, Techcrunch warns people not to buy the EVO 4G because it is a flawed device. Makes HATE MG much more, because he's a die-hard Apple fanboy. However, the end of the article states that his review was "Spot on."

Is it really as flawed as this article makes it out to be?

If anybody wants Handcent SMS just go to Handcent.com on their phone and the download is under the News section of the Handcent homepage on the left hand side.

First of all, I don't own one yet but will regardless of this junk. Secondly... the battery can't be worse then the Pre and lastly I don't think any phone is worth what AT&T is charging people to use an iphone... talk about ripping you off! Thank God they havn't discovered the cure for cancer or somthing like that .... could you imagine how they'ed treat it....

Next thing you know, AT&T will require a manditory app that notifies them when ever you charge your phone and they'll tack on a fee to simply charge your iphone... Boy-cotting AT&T and the iphone!

I believe Tech Crunch is full of Apple Fan boys anyways.

Oh Ok I got you. Gosh this phone is like the coolest. I am still amazed at it. I needed a phone number just now to order food before work. I always just goole it from my home computer. I spoke so and so restaurant Louisville Kentucky and boom it came up so fast with the number and even had driving directions. I was like OMG! It's amazing!

Does it work if you pronounce Louisville the right way?

How do you do the speed test? I did the Cnet one but I don't know if it was for mobile phones. I chose wireless and got 1814.9 kpbs and I was on wifi. I leave it on wifi the whole time I am in my house..

There is a special app in the market place called speed test. FYI I got the screen shot using shoot me.

Don’t Buy The HTC EVO, It Is A Seriously Flawed Device

Thats the most biased review I have ever read, not just about the EVO but about anything. What a clown. Try it out for yourself. If you dont like it Sprint offers their 30 day guarantee and just take it back. You got nothing to lose and alot to gain.
