The "I received the Htc fps update" thread

first of all I just want to say I have my evo since the 2nd week that it was out and not hardware problems whatsoever , ok so after only 3 months almost 4 months this phone really had a good run, Sprint and HTC really deliver this year with this phone, yes is not perfect and no phone will ever be, we just got an update for the minor stuff that we wanted and most likely will get tje new sense ( if not just root is not that hard anymore ) I had to buy this phone full price and I'm really happy with it and definitely staying with Sprint and most likely HTC new Evo HD ( lol those are the new names for phone now days) I have taken over 700 pics and 80 videos and they look good to phone standard and I used YouTube more with this phone then my pc lol, I just want it to share my experience so far, any of you guys feel the same.

Ps. Don't forget to check fruit ninja and angry birds beta really good to kill time in a big screen ha ha

wow the new update with the 30 fps cap removed makes the phone so much smoother. it really feels like a new phone again!

I just went out and got the latest OTA. Took forever to install...thought it might not recover for a bit there. Anyway my phone is lagging quite badly now. Whenever I move from menu to menu or screen to screen or send a text I get a pop up now that says please wait. It then loads something to 100% and then the screen goes black for a bit and then I'm back to my home screen. I've rebooted and also taken the battery out and did stop the loading 100% thing but is still saying please wait after I attempt to do something.

When I go to update, it says no update available. My software number says 3.26.651.6 ????

Anyone else? Is it just not available in my area (Columbus Ohio) yet?

(FINALLY showed up after checking manually for update 50 times... 8:17AM EST 9/23/2010)

Got mine at 6:20 AM EST. Ran FPS2D and got 53fps.

My phone was pretty quick before the update, so I'm not noticing a huge difference.

I honestly wouldn't have known about the cap if it wasn't for the forums.

I can see the difference but how are Yall checking the fps, I can't find anything on the market
Nevermind got it 54 fps awsome

Well I ran a whole bunch of benchmarks and was posting the results in the other thread when it got closed and I lost them all. Thanks.

Oh well. Basically the 30 fps cap for graphics is gone, 2D and certain other graphics runs in the 50 fps range, benchmarks that focus on graphics show improvements. 3D graphics benchmarks show a few FPS benefit as well. an3dbench shows about 1400 points gain.

Oh and shootme is back! yay.

I rolled over in the middle of the night and couodnt go back to sleep so I decided to try for he update and sure enough it was there.

Not noticing much difference other than fps2d which i never tried before. Both my linpack and quadrant scores are a ways from my top scores of 40 and 1400 respectively on stock 2.2

My browser is really sluggish too. But hey at least my phone isn't useless anymore.

Just installed over wifi, about 5 mins total....it is smoother from screen to screen...big fix, for me, was the 720p video i had shot 'was' choppy/stuttering after the froyo update....now gone...smooth playback. Stock everything here.
