Root The LG Optimus M Quadrant Score Thread!!!

new highest score

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

It's called Photoshop. No way an Optimus can score that high. As for all the other high scores (above the mid 500's) it is caused by enabling stagefright. I have an Optimus V running a cm7.1 gingerbread rom and with stagefright enabled can achieve scores of 1270 overclocked at 786, with it disabled i get around 575. The difference is that stage fright causes some of the test to fail and abort which is interpreted as a completed test. This shows as the test was finished faster resulting a higher (false) score. There has been a lot of research and posting done on this topic. Check it out when you get a chance. Sorry guys, really hate to burst your bubble but did you really think a little bit of overclock and a few tweaks will let you beat a better, faster processor?

I think we all know that our phones can't hit that. Pretty freaking obvious. Do a little research and the highest from a worlds more capable phone was in the 3000s.

Also, many of us participating in this thread realize that this is merely a number--a somewhat vague suggestion of performance. If you read the beginning of the thread, this is for fun, not hardcore research. Nobody with reasonable understanding is thinking that a processor OCed at 748 MHz or whatever is going to actually outperform a Droid X in real use.

Thanks for the info on the stagefright, but your patronizing tone is unwelcome.

That was the missing key--I hadn't flashed GNM's stagefright enabler since wiping and flashing Joneidy's latest update. I'm back around 1000 again (9XX to 11XX). If these tests are aborting early/failing, it doesn't seem very evident. All the counters finish on the initial screen, frame rates stay usually higher during the graphics tests, and the graphics tests run more smoothly, more often, and are consistently finishing every test.

Since you're the one telling us that more information exists on this, please provide a link to the threads you're talking about.

clean new sense rom flash with r.o.c.k. clocked at 787
and im only getting 550? For those people with 1000+ What are you doing to achieve that

Go to this post: http://androidforums.com/optimus-m-...4-optimus-m-overclock-thread.html#post2209867

And look for this text: "Make sure you have Getitnowmarketing's thunderc_m_enable_stagefright.zip" (<----Or just click that, since the copy and paste seems to have preserved the link).

Once you've downloaded that zip, put it on your SDcard, go into recovery, clear your cache and Dalvik cache just in case (***do not wipe anything else!!!***), and flash that zip. Then reboot.

For this instance, since you've obviously already OC'ed, etc, don't worry about anything else in that post. A few posts above, "mkbkr1" noted that Stagefright will give you a nice high very pretty number. Whether that's a legitimate score or not remains questionable, but it'll give you the number lol.

I don't notice a real performance difference in day to day use, I just notice my quadrant score is higher lol.

Figured I would post this here, best legit benchmark I've seen with this phone and I can reproduce it at will. Bobz cm7 rom, rock kernel, newest a2sd, and a few more tweaks, cpu set to 248/728.

Sweet. I got back to around 1000 again give or take 1-200 after enabling stagefright again since the sense update, but I've never had that high. Highest I can think of is 1140..?

I think the truth is though for general performance, our phones really aren't outperforming Droid Xs and Nexus Ones.

I got that 1343 without stagefright enabled BTW. That could possibly be negatively impacting benchmark scores.

As for real world use, meh I don't see any difference with it on or off....

I'm out to beat your top score. I got 13 something earlier today but my phone rebooted when I tried to grab a screen shot(I was clocked at 806). I might try building a kernel that supports voltage regulating tonight. Wanna be the Guinea pig? I think we will need an app to change the voltage as I don't see anywhere in the kernel that you can set a set point.

Edit: I'm also going to attempt to include smartass governor. Should be fun

cool for you--without stagefright enabled, while i'm unsure about performance vs placebo, the best scores i can get average around 500 some-odd.

I'm running everything specified under my username: latest sense rom (it comes with not quite the newest a2sd methinks, but not too old either, have to check), OC kernel, stagefright, 245/748.

oh, and who teh hell is bob??? lol--reppard, are you really bob, or is there some other dude who ported cm7 for these things?

1292 is my best so far i have a screeny but not sure how to post it.
Running Reppards CM7 from 9/6/11. Stagefright on. Before i read the entire thread here i was running in the 600-700's with just the rom on stock install clock without stagefright and Chainfire3D running the Tegra Plugin.

Three around 2241 but mostly in the upper 11xx
I don't know how got the first one only been able to do it three times , but I always clock around 1169, this wouldn't be possible without Reppard's incredible CM7 mod clocked at 768mHz, I didn't change a thing on my phone for these benchmarks lol :D Id put up pictures but I am a total N00b
