Root The Monster 4!!!

also no "usb debugging" icon or notification of any sort. not sure if its ROM or THEME related.... not a huge problem still can download and flash through USB.

i was talking about USB debugging in the development menu under applications. on the stock rom there is a little "bumble bee" android in the notification bar to let you know that USB debugging is enabled. tried re flashing the updated theme and same thing. then tried re flashing just the ROM and same thing on the ROM theme. just wondering... no big deal at all. i can still flash and transfer files via USB

I personally dont like the usb debugging icon there it takes up space in the notification bar. and i think because monster is a deodexed rom it got taken out as long as it is checked your good to go. and i was talking about the battery icon

If you have very low Notification volume please let genovdot know so he can find a solution to it or at least a reason for it happening.

genovdot is aware of it (He experienced it also) but I think he may need to know if it is happening to everyone using this ROM.

So please check your Notifications and run through all of them. Only 1 seems to be a decent volume (Perfect SMS). The rest are extremely quiet and barely audible.

DSP, Beats Audio, Volume +, VolumeAbuser, etc.. have little to no effect on helping boost the Notification volume.

Just to add, I have gone back to Admiral Beast to check Notifiations and they sound fine. I have flashed Monster 4 (3 times, with newly downloaded ROM zip) and its the same each time, eliminating possibility of a bad/buggy flash or zip.

I have a solution but it would make the notifications too loud I think.

I could deal with too loud lol.

Even if the notification volume is turned down to low it would be too loud?

Would it require a revision of Monster 4 or could it be fixed with an update?

hell ya. long as its nothin to worry bout then im straight lol

Yea I have DSPmanager set to custom everything set to Max with Bass effect to moderate and my music in the player and YouTube and everything else is super load. But notifications are still quite low. I never know if I get a text or IM unless I'm wearing my skinny jeans and it vibrates or it vibrates in my had. Lolz.

I have no problems with Notifications :D But I found a little bug, when making a phone call, DSP manager goes into force close and I have to force stop, and restart it to up my volume again. Thought I would let you know.

Also, battery life is TERRIBLE on this ROM, and I Flashed 6 times to make sure at full charge, on standby, with nothing but the main system stuff running (Nothing in Running Services but system programs), and my phone only last about 13 hours, and on Monster 3 I had double that, with programs running, and heavy use.

I wonder if maybe you have a bad cell in your battery, possibly from improper charge/discharge. Before I rooted my phone I noticed when I would charge it, it would tell me to unplug it rather than it simply being a full charge like with my Evo, which tells me that if you were to leave it plugged in overnight or something that it might be damaging to the battery because the phone doesn't stop charging. Just a thought, mostly because I just got my phone and have had no issues with battery life on Monster 4.

I do, however, seem to be having an issue with the web browser. Neither Dolphin HD or the native browser are connecting to the web, but I have data because I can get on Twitter and Facebook and MMS works as well.

Speaking of data/MMS. Requisite0, I am definitely no programmer or anything, but would it be beneficial to reverse engineer the working data/MMS parts of an already completed rom to at least help figure out why yours isn't working? Forgive me if that was a noob question, it just makes sense to me, lol. Also, not to sound pushy, but I was curious as to the status of your work. I am more than happy to wait, I was just wondering :)

as for the data/mms he is already in the works of getting it working problem is he doesnt have service with metro so its hard for him to tell if it works or not and he has to send it to someone to test he'll let us know when he gets it working and done.

as for the browser issues have you done any qpst or boosting, if so you have to run the network app in here http://androidforums.com/admire-all-things-root/454073-regarding-2-3-6-update-metropcs-solved.html otherwise its not going to work, i had run into that same problem when i first did it as well

I dont know what qpst or boosting is, I got my Admire through Ntelos and had it about 12hrs before rooting and flashing new software.

My notifications are hella loud. Maybe you all should try what i did. Download ringtone maker from the market and you can adjust the volume more louder on your mp3 notification ringtone. Then download volume+(volume boost) and max it out and see the diffrence!!!!! before my notifications were so low i couldnt even hear it for shit, but now its pretty loud. And for the dns manager it was always forclosing couldnt figure it out. i freezed it so thats out of the way. genovdot this rom is the best. thank you.

by the way volume+ is 1.99. I got it from the shared files but i do recommend buying it. it really boosts volume

alright then it must be something to do with the rom and Ntelos.

Hey genovdot is Ntelos supported on Monster 4? if not thats the problem other than that i got no clue

Sorry if its hard to see, since there is no screenshot option (hint, hint) I had to take a pics with one of my other phones, lol.

Anyways, I get this same error when I go to any website

i would try doing the network app and toggle dns check and set the preferred network to cdma prl (auto) see if that works
