The ***Official*** Did You Get The 2.1 Update Yet?

WTF is 32a and 32b?

I think it's different radio boards...I could be wrong though. I'm not quite sure..

EDIT: It's actually the motherboard, which was my second guess....lol... Here is a link that will give you more details:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/How_to_determine_if_you_have_32A_or_32B

I don't think the update is hitting until after June 10th, and even then it might not be later. It also isn't coming out for all MT3G only 32A are getting it. :)

32A/32B are revision numbers for the PCBS, so yes they are different, the 32B has more memory then the 32A versions of the PCB. So having said that the work around would need to be done for the 32A versions of the PCB, seeing on how the 32B versions can run the rom without problems. So I would assume that the Delay is being caused by the 32A versions of the mt3g due to memory issues.

The release is conjecture and hearsay.

Until T-mobile releases an official date as to when the OTA will start going out, this thread is useless.

Until then go flash CM5 and enjoy everything that 2.1 already has to offer. Hell, if you're even felling a lil froggy go flash CR's latest froyo rom.

I would love to, but my phone is a 32A 1.2 MT3G, and i'm not sure if there is a stable rom out for the Froyo for it yet...I'm going to check now though :P

There are plenty of stable roms for the 1.2. All CM kernel roms have zinc's patch included which has support for the 3.5mm headphone drivers and touchscreen. There are also a slew of ported roms using CM's kernel like CR's slide v1.0, Cannon's eclair, Super D, CR's froyo (still in BETA) and a host of others. Before, most of the roms were bastardizations of g1 roms with a hacked up fender kernel, that's why there weren't any stable roms.

The good CM kernel roms will all have working wifi, blutooth, 3D games, camera etc.

You can download CM5 from cyanogen's site and everything works on the 1.2 without any further modding.

Oh, I was confused I thought the 32A was 1.2 and had like ~255 mb? where as the 32B had like ~1xx?

I hate to like even sound like a know it all, but I honestly believe you have them switched mate.

Your correct Zen. Unless Tmobile changed all that once they dumped the MT3G v1.0 (original). Starting to hate tmobile for letting other carriers past them in product and innovation.

I just saw it, I'm super excited to see how it turns out!!! I still don't think we will get it for another few days, but still....I've waited a couple months already, what's another 48 to 96 hours?

It'll probably be longer than a few days, since that was a leaked internal statement. T-Mobile still hasn't put out their official public announcement.

Yea I know lol, just being overly optimistic about it. I still figure it will be mid June before we get any kind of update, but still....Mid June is like a week or so away.

nope i am correct, look at T-Mobile myTouch 3G 1.2 (HTC Sapphire) Specs | Technical Specifications | PDAdb.net - Comprehensive Database of PDA, PDA Phone, Smartphone, PNA & Mobile Device Specifications mine is the sapphire 1.2 and its not a fender, the V1.2 all have the 3mm headphone jacks where the older versions do not. The pcb rev on my phone is a 32B and it has 256M of internal system storage w/o the sd card inserted

Weird I have the exact same phone only mine is 32A.....

Actually mine is 1.6...so that explains why I have the 32A lmfao and all dat RAM :P

I am running 1.6 and mine came default with 1.5. I've rooted it a few times and returned it back to the stock T-mobile 1.5. all V1.2's running 1.6 need to do the goldcard method to root it. When did you buy your phone? I bought mine in march so thats prob why I have an updated version.

I don't think all 1.2's have 1.6, I am sure a slight few were shipped with 1.5, so take all the information you read on the web in reference to the phones with a grain of salt. anyone stating they are in 2.1 without it being rooted are definately FOS. Come to think of it, I actually flashed my phone with a 32A rom and converted it back to the 32B version. yep I used flashrec and it clearly stated 32A :) so its possible to change the phones if needed

Yea I know, I'm just going to wait for this new update, and if I'm not happy with it I'm rooting... :)

well we pay all this money for our service. I am impatiently waiting for my official 2.1 update while other carriers already released their 2.1 updates etc. T-Mobile needs to pull their heads out of their rears and get things rolling for the people who pay their bills as soon as they are recieved in the mail.

Dude we, MT3G, are getting 2.2 Froyo mate! Who cares about Eclair LMFAO

And it isn't Tmo, it's the phone producers. HTC Samsung etc. That are responsible for releasing the updates

Merf = Raincloud

Go rain on another parade dude! LMFAO

hahaha just playing, and yea I'm kinda skeptical, but at the same time I am setting high hopes and expectations up to this. Shall Tmo reach the bar, or shall I be unlocking and skipping my happy arse back to AT&T with a Rooted MT3G?
