Root The road to Android ICS 4.0 on the Triumph

Yeah, it's Triumph specific changes I've made to the CM9/ICS/AOSP source. Try taking the CM9 source without my changes, I guarantee you it won't boot, let alone build.

When it's working correctly, yes. The Triumph is more than capable of running ICS.

thanks for the info man! :D i will leave you alone now before i turn this into 20 questions lol :p

I have been looking for some other form that some one working on ics for MT and everything. Has your name on it isaac So do u know of any forms to fallow the work on ics for MT??

they should have named it "ice cream cake" since it has a bunch of the other os features build into it, then it got put on a daily regimen of high potency steroids :D

EDIT: i feel stupid for saying that but i just thought id put that out there lmao

I got sound working on CM9/ICS. I've finally managed to stabilize the system well enough to play around with it. The changes have been pushed to my Github.

Unfortunately, CM9 only boots when it feels like booting. However, when I manage to get it booting, the whole system is pretty responsive and quite pleasant to use. I like it much better than CM7 or MIUI.

It's amazing how much work you've accomplished considering that you got the sdk to boot less than two weeks ago,is there any way you can push the incomplete ROM your testing to us,just to try it:)?

Oh, it takes you days to do what others would take months to do. :D

Once again, thank you.

Can I repo your github or do I have to clone it?

I think we should all just be patient and let the man do his thing. People in general dont react well when they feel they are being pressured. I'm sure Isaac will share when he has something worth sharing.

I just wanted to personally thank you Isaac for all the CM/MIUI work you've done. I've been following your work on the Triumph since the beginning and know the scene wouldn't be very far along if not for your (and TGs) contributions. I have no idea how much time or effort you have put into these projects, but I just wanted to thank you and let you know I sent a 5er your way. A stable CM9 doesn't seem too far off. Good luck on your future projects when you do decide to put the Triumph development behind you!

I bet he's looking forward to doing that and getting 900 bug reports
Awesome to see ICS running on Triumph, but understand that CM9 is still baking in the oven! It's a cool toy to mess with at the moment, and Isaac seems to be pretty good at it. But you guys need to chill for a couple months on requests, he doesn't work for VM.

more like 900,000 bug reports... oh and after its done baking you gotta put ice cream in it. then freeze it. only after all that it will be ready :p

I think he will do what he wants. Remember, he has already said he is done with development. I am of the opinion that IF he were to release a ROM, it would be a "you get what you get" type of thing. However, I do hope he releases something, just so that we can get our hands on it. :)

Has anybody taken off the "screen protector" from the Motorola triumph ? And if so is the touchscreen more accurate?

I used the phone for a while with it on and took it off a few days ago the accuracy feels much more improved. I have yet to replace the protector atm

I don't know if this has to do with anything but I had another Motorola Triumph and I took off the screen protecter and it did really improve the screen but a couple of months after I did take it off I had the phone in my pocket and i don't know how but it started to crack the screen(basically the screen cracked inside), so I had to beg best buy to change it which was not easy but they did and I have that phone now with the screen protecter and I don't know if I should take it off or not I'm scare it might crack the screen again somehow!:/

His github already has everything you would need to make a flashable zip of what he's done so far. I would say that's probably good enough.

So if anyone really wants ICS now I'd say go for it. The more people who give developing a shot, the more who stick around and build awesome ROMs for people on the internet.

Yup, on a difficulty scale 1-10, and Isaac's work on CM9 being a 12, rooting & installing custom ROM's being around a 2, building ROMs from source is only around 5-6. I've built CM7 for the OV before, so may give CM9 a shot when I have some time, this guide is helpful for anyone who wants to try. It's easy to install Ubuntu Linux running in a Windows 7 x64 window with VMware player + the ubuntu .iso.
