You know you're in the middle of nowhere when you pass a sign that says, "Last stop for 200 miles"

Those signs only bother me if I have a car that calculates how far you can go on the fuel you have. Passing a sign that says next stop 100 miles and the car is telling you that you are out of fuel in 80 miles...

Hope so. We've had a couple hurricanes here in in my lifetime with Sandy being the latest. Most of the damage we get is from flooding and trees down. This year has been very quiet, tropical storm-wise.

We're used to the flooding. It's just frustrating that the corrupt politicians steal the money that should be going to public services we so badly need. Then when there's a disaster, they wait for foreign aid. It's disgusting.

If you guys could use some more oil. We're kinda out of room for storing crude oil and the refined products it makes. If you could take some long road trips or make a flamethrower that would really help us out

Yes. We need more oil. I'll hop on the next plane out, but you'll have to pick me up.

Luna, I forget you and I are fairly close. Being so far inland, and in the mountains, we didn't expect Sandy to pack quite a punch, but it did... Not devastating but worse than most expected. I thank God I keep prepared for most emergencies

We had a few trees in the back fall (away from the house this time, thank a generic deity) and lost power for a day, but that was the extent of it.

So I spent all morning in a McDonalds, while a friend was trying to use their WiFi to fill out a form to send off for her new job.. Their WiFi keps dropping out, and I ended up using my phone's tether..
