The truth about iphone

Not a fan boy. Me and my mate like to give each other shit for fun. He,s gonna give me heaps of crap about the size of my Galaxy Note and just wanted some ammo .

As a very happy Dell Streak owner, the Galaxy Note sounds like the most awesome device on the planet. Any crap he gives you will be to mask his jealousy.

Sorry if that came across wrong, I wasn't implying that you were a fanboy. I was just pointing out how irritating people find them. It used to be that people got upset with everyone saying, "Look what my iPhone can do." or "Check out this new app I downloaded." Now I hear, "iPhones suck you should buy an Android." or "Android is better than ________." I think it is pretty irritating either way.

No, what's most annoying is the new generation of fanboys/girls who insist they know everything about the tech industry, who invented what, who deserves credit, when they can barely power on an iDevice. THAT is annoying.

I don't care who borrows what tech from who. It happens all across the industry, it's natural evolution. But at least give credit where credit is due, and iFans proclaiming Apple invented everything up to and including the wheel get's beyond annoying.

Of course, the same can be said of certain Phandroids with the same symptoms, and now the WP7 zealots are getting there as well.

As for the discussion turning WP7, so far from my experience in some WP7 forums, they seem to not care anything at all over other OS. They seem mature and go like, we like WP7, they like Android, let it be.

I must admit I want to try one out.

I've tried Android, iOS and WP7. Among the three, I greatly prefer Android. I found the WP7 interface to be very slick and intuitive but while the major applications are covered, I still can't find alternatives for the more esoteric apps I use. Another issue is it takes the same walled garden approach that Apple does.

If I had to choose a smartphone with no regard for app availability, though, I'd likely go with WP7. It's just so pretty and it handles core functions quite nicely.

Think of all the cars on the road that copied the Model T...

4 wheels. steering wheel. damn thieves they all are.

Yup. And that dastardly Henry Ford, look how he copied those buggies. He even alluded to the horse when he talked about Horsepower. Darn Ford, what's up with that, Henry?

Good thing he wasn't Chinese or Egyptian or we'd be measuring our DOHC v-8's in yakpower or camelpower. ;)

Where can i get the facts about what ideas were borrowed, copied or stolen that make up the iphone. I hear so much from both sides but i would like to know the cold hard facts. My mate is an ifan and i would like some info to stick it to him about his beloved [ YUCK ] iphone. Only facts that can be cross referenced please
Ideas are a dime a dozen. I could tell you a whole bunch of great ideas right now. Unless you can execute an idea properly, it doesn't really matter. This whole software patent system is really messed up. You should not be able to patent ideas, only inventions.

ALways present in these kinds of discussions is the idea that an idea can be somehow prtected. How Apple or Harley or Motorola or Denny's stole an idea from Google or Microsoft or The Hurley Celluloid Corsett Manufacturing Company.

Some people seem to think that it is a good idea that a company should be able to protect just an idea. Ideas should (and will) never have legal protection. I can think of a few ideas and if they were protected, nobody could use them.

Did you know that there was a time when if you wanted a legal patent, you required a working model. Not just a drawing, but a physical object.

I wish it was still like this today. It would solve many (not all, by any means) of our patent issues today.
