Okay, so i have the ROM installed great. Now i just did the kernel, like how you showed in the video. Now setcpu is saying there is no ROOT detected and asks if my phone is rooted. What should i do? i installed 1.3Ghz LV 7X
 
man that looks sweet! would anyone by chance be willing to walk me through setting up my droid for this. incase your willing i have the stock version 2.1 im not rooted and my only computer has linux ubuntu. if there is a way to make it happen please let me know! any help would be great!

Is there anyway that I can just get the HTC keyboard out of this ROM to use on stock BB1.0? Its a good ROM but I prefer standard BB.

Why the sad face? With that major, you can do a lot of things. You've got a lot of choices. :)

Is there any updates in getting our MMS additional settings back without losing Video messaging? I installed the MMS apk but I really really miss my different notification lights.

When running one of the overclocked kernals, is it necessary for SetCPU to constantly run?

I've noticed that virtually no running apps stay in the list on Advanced Task Killer, even when i know they are indeed running (like Clock, Messaging, Gmail, etc). What's up with that?
 
Nevermind. I see that you are studying for your EE. I was going to do that, but I was unable to go to classes being a single dad. So, I'm doing online classes for my Software Engineering Degree. I work as a Hardware Engineer now.
 
Sorry but I've seen conflicting information regarding kernals. I get better performance out of Bekit lv 1000, but better life out of P3droid. Does using P3Droid break the scaling so you HAVE to use setcpu for profiling or does the profiling set up in the rom still work? Thanks.

If you use a P3 kernel, then none of the automatic memory free commands, and none of the CPU scaling commands, will work. You need SetCPU if you're using a P3 kernel.
 
Fab, congratulations on finishing college. I am so happy with NexBeast V1.0. I'm getting crazy good battery life, total stability, and cool temps with the stock 600 kernel. I have no need for anything faster if it affects any of those. Can't wait for V1.1. Thanks to you and Pete for this amazing rom.
 
I like this rom, however helix isn't that great. You cannot define a default home screen or get rid of the notification bar, among other settings. Helix 2 lags, so I have been using home++

Yes sir! This is a fantastic alternative to Helix and Helix 2!

I've been running this ROM since it was released. NexBeast and ADW...this is the fastest my phone has ever ran...by a decent margin! It "feels" like JIT is enabled (that makes sense to those who have played with JIT)...difference obviously is that this is so incredibly stable!

Did I mention that I am only at 1GHz and I usually run other ROMs @ 1.2? I haven't even tried it at 1.2 :D Maybe I should try that now that I'm thinking about it...


Fab, congrats on the accomplishment! You're a sharp guy and I wish you much success as you transition from college life!

BS and MS in EE for me

good luck with the job hunt, I can't imagine how tough it must be now for new hires
