It's not rough around the edges - it is a pure dump of the ROM from the Nexus 1 ported over to the DROID.

This is not a ROM that was created from the AOSP like others (CM, Pete's) but literally a port from another phone.

As such, it is going to have growing pains. if you're not comfortable with them, yeah, sticking with what you had is probably good.

Think of this as bleeding edge stuff.

Nobody makes me bleed my own blood.

well maybe that was a bad term, not expecting out of box perfect, but want something that will work, and work well, and not have reboots etc.

might give it a try not sure yet. I have noticed that the current NExtBeast tends to eat a bit more battery then before..

IF I set it up and ran it overnight before reboot would be okay?

noticed a random reboot with my current V1.1 from Fab.. never had that before

Don't see that causing any issues... I actually got it up and running, had some issues then flashed back to my JRummy's remix for a bit... Decided to give it another try and it has been running slick ever since...

just flashed this on 2 phones. Setup is only taking about 10-30minutes depending on how many apps you have installed

I have 150+ apps - Fab, if I cancel the automatic update, enable WiFi, then reboot, will the automatic update start again?

default - he linked the OC kernels from P3 that enable WiFi in the OP but it is not in default, IIRC.

SPRecovery worked but I would rather have the ClockWork. I have tried in 3 different browsers with the same result. No download.

If I use IE I get a 403 error. With Chrome and Firefox I get nothing. What gives? Oh well. I guess I will try tomorrow.

Ahhh, thanks, Bunsen - I'll go with that then.

I ma finally about to put Fab's NeFro on here again - this time I ain't gonna fark with the system apps, I swear!

yeah just let it commit phone sucide when you first install it. It demands to download all apps at once. Than i flashed kernel, baseband, and fixed maps

I'd rather use my WiFi which gets 10 Mbps to my phone (I get 18-33 Mbps to my computer, phone only gets up to 10 on wireless G)

what's switchlwp

EDIT: added the following

(sorry a bit lazy atm - reading 5 sites, talking to a friend, and doing tech support)

I'll go search it....

Well, I was gonna go to bed, but then I hopped on the forum for the first time in a few days and saw this. Guess I'm not going to bed anymore :D

Fab is my hero.

I was up and running with NexFro and seemingly happy when I used Rom Manager to boot into recovery for the purposes of installing the new baseband. Well I never made it to that point as I'm stuck at the Motorola circle. I've removed the battery and have restarted both with power/x and just normal turning on. Finally booted up so I tried again. Same issue though again after removing the battery and waiting for 4 or 5 minutes it boots up but I can't boot into Clockwork recovery. I used Rom manager and flashed alternate recovery (SPR) and that worked and is allowing me to install the new baseband. Should I just reflash back to Clockwork once I'm back up? Other ideas?

Have you tried the trick where you use ROM Manager to flash SPRecovery and then flash Clockwork Recovery right after? That has always worked for me.

If that doesn't work, do the same, but reboot between the two flashes (normal reboot, not into recovery).

I've gotten into the state after flashing a ROM where I get stuck at the moto logo, the process above has always fixed it for me.

Finally, if you have a corrupt SPRecovery or Clockwork recovery, you can also try clearing your download cache in ROM Manager, and flashing the recovery again - that will force a fresh download of the recovery image...

Dolphin browser HD doesn't seem to play nice with NexFroyo 2.2. Opens the dolphin home page then reverts back to home screen. Guess I'll stick to stock browser!

jdlfg has released two Froyo kernels, currently has an 800SV and 1200LV, others coming...

His kernels were really nice on 2.1, so expect these will be quite nice as well.
