Ok, so I pushed the Flash Player apk via busybox to the /system/app/ folder, but I don't see any flash enabled stuff... tried the m.kongregate.com site, but nothing is working..

Not sure what I'm missing here...

@johngalt - thanks; will remove the file and use the adb install command and hope it works, haha

UPDATE: Worked like a charm.. very nice and quick when it comes to flash!

How is the map.apk that Fab posted used to fix things...just replace the existing map.apk with it using something like Root Explorer, right?

RedFlea -
see this:

Code:
su
sysrw
mv /system/app/Maps.apk /system/app/Maps.apk.bak
busybox cp /sdcard/Maps.apk /system/app/
sync
reboot

The original one that he themed that is in the Modded ROM is b0rken - this will fix the brojen things in the on in the Mod.

Weird...I extracted to the clockwork backup folder, right next to my current backup, and when in recovery, it's not showing at all. My other one is, but not that. When I mount the SD, it's showing that it's there, just not showing up in recovery. Guess I'll have to try SPR.

OK, so the original download was a ClockworkMod file, and I missed that in the description. :o I just saw "nandroid" and thought it was an SPR nandroid file. ARGH! The ROM installed ClockworkMod.

Now I need to reinstall SPRecovery to revert back to an earlier ROM because my home replacement app (Sweeter Home Preview 2) doesn't like 2.2.

I don't mind using ClockworkMod, but my older nandroid backups (made with SPR) don't work. How does one go about making these nandroid backups compatible with ClockworkMod? Or do I just need to go back to SPR?

Sorry if it sounds like I'm rambling. I'm really sick and it's hard to think.

Seems to break data connection if you use update.zip, so the only way atm to distribute Froyo ROMs is by nandroid.

Why not use Skaggz fonts from ROM Manager...that should work for those who have ROM Manager (and maybe requires premium?).

I haven't tried it yet, but if someone did a nandroid first it would be easy to try...I've used it on other themed ROMs to change the font back to stock.

You can load SPRecovery, restore your backup. Load/Run ROM Manager, flash CW Recovery, make a nandroid of your setup. Voila - you have a Clockwork Compatible nandroid of your config.

Then flash back to SPRecovery (using ROM Manager) load your other nandroid...etc.

Will take a few minutes the first time, but once you've made the switch I think you'll prefer CW Recovery overall...more features, and integration into ROM Manager is nice. :)

Fab...I tried again, this time trying to block reinstall of as many apps as possible, and appear to have a relatively stable setup running now. :)

Trying to charge it now - previous 2.2 ROMs didn't seem to charge very well for me, and if it charges properly will take more advanced steps like adding my Exchange account, adding a few apps at a time to look for issues, etc.

Who knows, might finally get lucky and get back (most important) GAL lookup in email, and BT voice dialing... :)

Thanks. Sounds like a plan. Now I just have to find those stupid SPR files. :(

A way to burn a few minutes... :)

And if I wasn't clear, you can flash SPRecovery and Clockwork Recovery both from ROM Manager...that's one very cool feature it has, you can use it to switch between recoveries (flash CW Recovery is at the top of the list of options on the app home screen, flash SPRecovery (alternate recovery) is that the bottom of the list. :)

Any issues with the new baseband? I want to try it but don't want to f my phone ;p

I used it w/5.0.7.1, seen posts from others using it w/Froyo...the issues, when they occur, seem to mostly have been related to Verizon having some server maintenance last night/early this AM.

I flashed the new baseband about 10:00 AM today w/no problems. Don't know that I see any improvement over the previous Baseband in terms of reception, but maybe it provides better battery life...

changing nandroids from spr to clockwork and vise versa is a pain in the butt. I have done it a lot lately. If you are going to make a permanent move to Clockwork then do it.(I would suggest it cause clockwork is better) If you plan on going back to SPR then dont waste your time

I'm looking more and more like a happy camper...charging now on my dock at work, and up from 50% to 80%, previously I'd sit and almost never show a charge improvement.

Screen is waking up when I ask it to, apps seem to be OK loading and running.

I am almost willing to begin to hope... :)

Well, I took my head out of my butt and had SPR reflashed in about 20 seconds. It seems I've had it installed for so long, I just forgot how to do. I found a ReadMe file and the recovery.img file and it was 'all good'.

It did give me a chance to dabble with CW and I can see some advantages. I'll be experimenting over the next week and see which one floats my boat.

LOL I guess that's kinda a compliment. But we all have brain farts from time to time. Sometimes just typing out the question leads you to the answer. And good tech support from these guys doesn't suck either. ;)
