I only use wifi for phone tools because I hate plugging it in via usb just to drop a few files on it etc. But my signal has show no bars with all the Froyo builds so far but works just great regardless as well.

Sounds like the same thing with the Droid Incredible's signal strength. It reports low bars when the signal is actually quite alright. I don't know though. I don't think anything I did could have affected the way it reports signal

At least it's working (kinda)

Anyone need the default fonts and can do a little test for me?

K, since everyone else is having problems, I thought I would check it out. I had wifi up and working when I was running the CW nandroid of the 1.0 release. Now, I updated to 1.0.1 via the Update.zip and its a no go. The 1.0 release, I was running the 1.0 P3 Kernel. And the 1.0.1 release I'm using the kernel that came with it.

Has anyone else noticed, that now when you go to see your battery usage, it also tells you how much data each app has been sucking up?

Sorry for the noobness of my question. I'm running Fab's Beta 2.2 creation. I avoided switching to this newer build because things were fine with what I had going. But curiousity has gotten the best of me. Can I just install the 1.0.1 update.zip file from where I am? Or do I first need to do a nandroid restore using the CW file for 1.0 and then apply the 1.0.1 update?

No, I don't think it is anything you did at all. Even with the plain vanilla build that was released initially it showed no bars for me but worked. As of now with your new build my wifi is blazing fast!

I'm kinda curious about something tho since it seems the two problems folks are having is either mototorch not working or wifi having issues. Maybe someone could create a poll or we just respond with what our luck is..

Mine is:

Wifi: Working
Mototorch: Not working

ok ok, i have tried reading through this entire forum and i might have missed it, so don't flame me too much.

but, I am having FCs with maps when i try to go to layers.
I have tried to uninstall it through SU--doesn't uninstall
tried copying over the map.apk and tried install that off of the SD card, but doesnt work
tried to install it over the market place and that didn't work as well

Is there anything else i can do or something that i am doing wrong??

Thanks
Patrick

FAB, thanks for the reflashing back and forth between CW and SP in order to get it going right. I finally got into recovery mode where I could re-flash to the NexFro 1.0 ROM.

However I went into ROM Manager just now and was preparing myself to flash over to NexFro 1.0.1. So I was in ROM Manager and selected to backup current ROM. My phone rebooted and now is in a never ending boot loop cycle of the boot animations.

Do you have any idea what happened and how I can get out of this and back to a working ROM again?

You should be fine just changing the png files. There are a few new ones in 2.2, but I'm pretty sure those aren't the ones you're trying to replace.

It's these xml files that are really a pain...

Thanks for the quick reply, FAB. Yeah, I usually like to change the Verizon Wireless field using Pulldown Editor, but I'm guessing that won't work anymore and I usually also use the colorchange.jar from xda and the instructions here http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-droid/49813-guide-change-notification-clock-pull-down-text-colors.html to change notification bar and panel text colors, but I'm guessing that won't work either.

Sounds like you're still running the beta. You should try the latest release 1.0.1. You should be able to install it on top over the beta, but you should make a backup just in case it fudges up.

The only issue I'm having right now (and I can't believe that I've progressed to the point where I can talk about an issue on a running 2.2 ROM, as opposed to getting the ROM to run at all ;) )...

So my issue is lag in the browser here on Android forums...reminds me of back when 2.1 first was popping up. Scrolling isn't quite as smooth, but typing is really laggy. Anyone seeing this before or after the update.zip?

Thanks rabbit - but there is an entire thread already devoted to that baseband update....

i understand that. the link was for an all-in-one baseband update which can flash over ANY baseband update rather than a specific one. this is the first of its kind which may prove useful to many.

I didn't do NexFro at all until now - and MototTorch was not working in the original 2.2 leak that I came to from BB, but it is now in FRF57.

I just used the update to NexFro 1.0.1 - let's see if it works.

No! It is now not working. It seems to be an issue specifically with NexFro - it works on base frf57 for me.

am i to understand this whole time you we couldn't get mototorch to work on this rom and you told us it was our specific phone's problem, you weren't running nexfro? that's hilarious! :D

MotoTorch didn't work for me on the unthemed 2.2 release either. Just sayin'...

me neither :(

GLD! good to see we have the same taste ;)

best,

I wonder if there are any common factors between working wi-fi phones and broken ones.

Mine works, it is a WPA/WPA2 Personal, TKIP, Pre-Shared Key. I am running NexFro 1.0.1 with the stock kernel.

I had to add my networks manually since the SSIDs are "hidden".

I think the wpa-supplicant software is at least part of the problem, folks with EAP protected wi-fi networks may be S.O.L.

This is the message I keep getting:

"The application MotoTorch LED (process com.alford.MotoTorchLED) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

This is the same message I've gotten w/ each build I've tried.
Me too.. Same with droid light... I just flashed update.zip and everything else works... even wifi! I am using WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES] as well.... Turned the wifi on as soon as I logged in and it had my 32 apps downloaded in less than a min.
Fab, what is up with your Gmail icon with the little 0 on it? Mine doesn't look like that.... Show me the way!

I've noticed this too. Could it be due to flash? Then again, I just use Tapatalk :D

Well, I have the same WPA/WPA2 TKIP, and it wasn't working initially. Now it does. I have a feeling it's on the Droid side of things, but no real evidence.

so i see alot of people posting a picture showing my device then a number and under that names of other devices running 2.2. what is that program called. thanks

Fab...If I'm running your Beta version, can I just go straight to the update for 1.0.1 or do I need to first install 1.0?

Hi rf!! I haven't actually taken the 2.2 plunge yet, but when I do, it will be to NexFro (or whatever Fab-NexThemed BB ROM may be out by the weekend when I will have the time to devote to getting everything set up how I like it). For now, I'm just doing all my homework and making sure I have a good understanding of what I'm gonna need to do to get customized the way I want things.

It looks like we had the same thought, too! http://androidforums.com/901660-post58.html

If you don't have issues, then it's not a big change. Just a slightly newer base.

No issues other than MotoTorch. So I'll stay with this. Well now that I think about it my market is still kinda funky, when I go to download a new app i would have to cancel and download again so it would work. I did what u suggested and cleared the data in the app settings, now it sticks on "Installing..."

Hey guys,

Is anyone having problems with Tempmonitor on this rom? It says it can't see the CPU temp due to it not being Tasmanian_Droids Kernel? Never had that problem with BBv1.1. I did a quick search and didnt net any solutions.

Thanks,

Dave

No, I wasn't on NexFro - hence my always saying the it works on FRF57 as opposed to saying that it works on NexFro.

Thanks for this - gonna check out the new kernels now.

The only light app that seems to work well right now with any themed 2.2 rom is Tesla.
