I am installing this now, I needed me some fonts after I had gotten 1.0 yesterday.
 
Fab I have 3 requests, a .zip for normal fonts, fix mototorch problem, and add a donate link so I can buy you some beers!
 
Dang....I leave the country for a week and all hell breaks loose...lol! Froyo madness!!!

Just installed the NexFro zip that Fab posted last night....was wondering why my LauncherPro doesn't look like the latest Froyo version....

can't wait to get this bad boy up and going and running at the speeds others have posted! :cool:

EDIT: NM....Posting within first 5 minutes of loading a new ROM is not recommended....the Settings/Preferences button is a wonderful thing......good to go now....
 
I hate to "bug" you like this Fab, but the lack of WiFi working really is a deal-breaker for me, since I get not cell reception in most of my house...Maybe once Pete releases BB, things will go better...

Any chance you could post a NexFro zip file with the standard Android fonts? Us old people have a problem with the Nextheme fonts.....:(

I'm not sure what WIFI problem you guys are talking about unless it is with another kernel. After loading 1.01, and not updating to a faster kernel, my WIFI is flawless against a Netgear WNDR3700. Froyo is running plenty fast enough for me at 800Mhz.
 
I went with the latest nexfro update and my maps still don't update:confused:

Just found another problem, now google voice don't work for me

is your router secured with WPA? mine was fine at first but then stopped working. went back to stock froyo then applied blackmodzz and i have no wifi issues.

Same here...I'm using the 800MHz kernel that Fab included in the update.zip, and wireless connects quickly (faster than in 2.1) and is very fast...

Those having problems w/wireless - are you all running 1.01 with the stock kernel?

Flashed to Update.zip file.

Things I like:
FAST.... VERY FAST
Alot of cool customization
Very Sleek Look and feel to it
Wireless tether
Scripts to uninstall things like Amazon MP3 for example

Things I don't like (i.e. BUGS)
Moto Torch not working

Final thought, I really enjoy this ROM and I really do appreciate all the hard work put into this ROM. The DEV really enjoys and cares about his work. By far one of the best in my eyes

I'm uploading that file right now. Care to test it out for me? Or anyone else who wants the default fonts.

Honestly, I'm out of ideas for now about the wifi. Strangest thing though...I've had this on my phone since last night. I've rebooted it twice since then. WIFI was definitely not working before, but this morning...

I have a quick question for ya, Fab. Is there anything new, tricky or different about manually changing out png files in this ROM's framework-res.apk and pushing it back to /system/framework/?

You should be fine just changing the png files. There are a few new ones in 2.2, but I'm pretty sure those aren't the ones you're trying to replace.

It's these xml files that are really a pain...

Well, the signal is 5 by 5 on my laptop which is currently 1 foot away from my phone.

Now my phone has 2/3 bars in the exact same spot it had none an hour ago.

Whatever, it works just fine with no bars, so I'm happy.

Yes, I'm running 1.01 with the stock kernel and WIFI does not work for me. I'm at the office and have tried to connect to the guest wifi network with no luck. I was able to do this before without any issues pre-Froyo. I did a battery all in the hopes that it would fix the problem (that fixed my bluetooth problem on NexFro 1.0), but that didn't do the trick. Wifi will scan, show the available network, but will say "Not In Range" when trying to connect - also, the scan seems to fluctuate between really fast and really slow...

I'll keep messing around with it (there are a few other wifi spots in my building I can test with) and with my router at home before I say it doesn't work for certain.

I only use wifi for phone tools because I hate plugging it in via usb just to drop a few files on it etc. But my signal has show no bars with all the Froyo builds so far but works just great regardless as well.
 
Waited quite a bit before installing FRF57.

-Came from NexBeast 1.0
-TiBu all my apps
-Wiped, loaded using CW
-Restored using TiBu

Everything works, even WiFi.
