Fab, any way you can shoot me the news and weather .apk? I accidentally uninstalled it in the rmgenie script. I thought that was going to remove that genie widget, but it removed news and weather instead.

GenieWidget.apk IS the News and Weather widget. You can get if from the original update.zip file for the ROM -- just unzip it and look in /system/app.

I just tried the same thing. My WIFI did work after several reboots. After forgetting the connection, I cannot get it back.

Edit: I restored the nandroid backup I made after getting v1.01 setup the way I wanted. It brough my WIFI back. I am curious if it only happens if you forget an AP.

When I applied the update.zip w/default fonts, I lost WiFi to a network (at my home) that I did not forget...

I should say I can't prove that update caused it, but that was the only change I'd made to the phone setup today...

I read somewhere in this thread that the kernal included in the update zip is a motorola based 800mhz kernal. Was I dreaming? I ended up flashing the 1ghz P3 kernal but after some thought I wanted to try out that 800mhz kernal especially since it's a motorola kernal.

Do I just reflash the update zip or is there a zip file with that kernal floating around somewhere?

Grab the update.zip Fab provided from the OP in this thread....apply it and you'll get the 800MHz kernel.

Since I and several others had success with it runnign on FRF57 , even with a few that did not, and since NexFro used some sort of fix for the Market when Fabolous went to the frf57 base, I am guessing that said fix is what is breaking MotoTorch.

If all he did to fix the Market was the change the build.prop then that is not what is causing MotoTorch not to work. I had the Market fix and MotoTorch running just fine on FRF57.

So my wifi actually doesn't work.

Here's what I found out...after loading NexFro, it automatically connected to my home wifi AP. I'm not sure how it did that since I did a complete wipe so it shouldn't have stored it, but it connected.

So I forced it to forget the connection just now and tried to re-connect and it isn't working. It just hangs at wifi scanning and hitting connect does nothing. I guess the trick is don't hit forget?

Anyhow, don't hit forget if you want to keep your connection alive.

Your passwords are stored on your Google account, so when you signed in again, it remembered your favorite access points. And you're right, I just forgot my network, and now my wireless doesn't work again :(

HRMMMMM.

Sorry if this is repetitive, but I didn't see anyone refer to it in this thread yet:

FAB, FAB, FAB -- Pete's Froyo BB is out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw that. I'm driving back to Illinois tonight though, so I won't really be able to take a closer look until later.

Hey Fab my launcher pro that came with your rom has the buttons on the bottom in grey and I can't change them at all. How do i fix it so the bottom tab look like yours?

long press on each one to bring up the menu to select the app then choose default icon for the color one.

Alright, I've almost had enough disappointment:

  1. I flashed 3 times this morning, wifi doens't work.
  2. I flashed this afternoon, rebooted 4 times, still no wifi.
  3. I'm going to flash tonight, reboot 10 times(maybe 5), then let it sit on the charger overnight...not even in the dock.

We will patiently wait for your theme. You rock :D

I guess that's an option I blindly accepted, lol.

Is there a way to access these saved wifi credentials on google? I'm having a tough time finding anything about it.

It's not going to work.

If you don't already have the wifi access saved it won't connect. Read above a few posts.

also, make sure you go into "Preferences" on LauncherPro (menu button) and then select "Dock Background", then "Froyo Wide"....then you can select which apps to have in the bar....

took me a while to figure out as well....:D

his launcher 2 is themed, yours (and mine since I am having the same issue) isnt. I looked into the zip file for the launcher 2 apk file and couldnt find it... :(

Do you have Titanium Backup? If so, scroll down, looking for the items with green font. What you want will probably be in the bottom quarter of the Backup/Restore List. When you get to "Wi-Fi Access Points" hit restore (or, to make it easy, just type Wi-Fi into the filter and apply), then you can restore that data.

Maybe a dumb question, but have you tried turning Airplane Mode on, then back off, and if that didn't fix the problem, rebooting? Airplane Mode didn't fix my lack of 3G after the baseband upgrade, but rebooting did and now my signal is phenomenal. Also, make sure you've changed your Vocode to EVRC-B:

1. Dial ##7764726 and press call button
2. enter 000000 and click on "verify"
3. go down to 04 Vocode, select, change the Vocode settings to EVRC-B
4. hit Apply and your phone will reboot.

I gave your suggestions a try in order, but sadly none of them seem to have worked. I'm going to attempt to flash one of the P3Droid kernels and, failing that, I will probably switch to Pete's Froyo BB until Fab has a chance to theme it.
