Root TheUltimateDroid 2.1! :D

Check your Swype install location. If it is on the SD card, every time you unmount and remount your SD, you will need to enable Swype again.

I have Swype installed on my SD card and it happens to me all the time. As far as I'm concerned, this is not that big a price to pay in order to save almost 10Mb space internally.

Kratos

that was definitely it but I have 90 mb's free so it wasn't such a big deal but thanks for the tip.

What camera issue is that? If it has anything to do with the camera constantly focusing in and out and the LED flashing, open your camera. In the top right corner of the actual screen (landscape) or far right on the bottom (portrait), look for what looks like a power button, press it, in the focus mode section, change from continuous to auto. That will take care of you camera problem, unless you are talking about something else.

As for the lag, either try a different kernel or just use the stock kernel. I have heard great things about the stock kernel. I usually use Chevy's LV 1.1Ghz, but when I flashed yesterdays nightly build, I left the kernel stock and see better performance with that one.

Kratos

I'll re-flash tonight and give that a try. Thank you, Kratos.

BlackDroid indicated that you do NOT need to wipe coming from 2.1, although you'll want to wipe if you have issues afterwards. I do not intend to wipe and we'll see how it goes.

I have been refreshing like crazy so I can win the race of starting the thread for the new rom. I must be bored if this is what I'm doing. Dang I need Black Ops.

Thanks Chief. Keep me posted. I'm sure I won't get to flash it for a couple of days.

I was ready to beat you to the punch and post the first thread... but I'll do the gentlemanly thing and let YOU post first.

THIS time :p

Thanks how nice of you since you did it for UD 2 and 2.1

well at least we know that blackdroid is doing something on the site as he just added a gsm desire section.

That is true Chief as I see you as one of the members to check in the past 15 minutes in the downloads section.

We have no lives when a new UD ROM is waiting to drop LOL

I could be a jerk and start a thread right now and just edit in the link when it comes... LOL

But, I'll be nice and let you two fight it out. As long as I get the download, I really don't care who creates the thread.

Also, if you are able to get it to download from his site right away, please be nice and upload it to an alternate site. It really is helpful when others do that to take the load off BD and lessen the load on his servers.

Says the guy who has almost 1500 more than me... LOL ;):D

But seriously, wouldn't that be considered "thanks whoring"? I mean, the person who creates the thread gets all the thanks... LOL
:D:D;);)

I have to give the_chief a hard time about it because this thread was created by him and I totally missed it by about 15 minutes.

I'm all set up and ready for the drop.

TiBU created/updated- Check
Nandroid BU created- Check
Chevy kernel on SD- Check
Fresh download of UD 2.2.0- TBD

Well, hello there folkies. Been a hot one since I've been around here, and even longer since I flashed a diff ROM. After riding the LFY bandwagon for a long time (since Sept, and it's now almost Dec), it was time to see what everyone else is doing. So I came back to visit an old friend, UD.

Ah, what a welcomed change. I was in love with LFY 1.7, often calling it the best ROM I've had on my Droid. But the later builds just didn't quite live up to it, which has lead me to stray back to an old g/f. And just like a fling with an old flame, this night is on fire. UD2.1 is blazingly fast. It's at least on par w/ LFY 1.7 with the stock kernel at 800MHz. Could be faster, I dunno. But this baby's butter, no doubt.

I've got to put her through the ringer, but as long as there's no fatal errors and the battery life stays good, this ROM will take the mantle of Best ROM Ever. You just can't beat the customizations. And I love the new lockscreen, I just don't know how long BD has been using it.

So by the time I get everything worked out with this, 2.3 will be in full swing. Forgive the long winded comment, but it's been a while since my last post.

grr the new rom is taking so long haha. so glad i moved to the droid. the ally was boring as hell lol only two roms and no fan base like this. reminds me of my samsung omnia days. new roms every few days and always lookin forward to new and better things

Can anyone speak about the Scaling Governor section. Is this an "interactive" kernel being used on this rom? I am using power save right now, but would like to know a bit more about what the others do. They do seem to be mostly self explanatory, just was looking for more info on each. Also, do you have to use a kernel that is "interactive"? Thanks for the help! ;)
