Things I wish my Bionic could do

I don't know if a similar thread exists, but I couldn't find one so here goes #1 I wish it had a lighted charging port, so I could easily plug in in the dark. #2 I wish it had an FM transmitter. #3 I wish I could 'easily' use it as a universal remote for my cable box. How bout you? What doesn't this Droid do that you wish it could?

2) Don't remember where I got it but attached is a FM Radio app
3) Time Warner has an app that lets you control your recordings and change channels. It controls there guide.

Depending on your cable company cable, it can act as a remote through their app. Someone mentioned Time Warner and Comcast can do the same. It doesn't act like a normal remote, it uses data instead of using IR, but seems just as fast to me. And can program my DVR if I forget something after I left my apartment.

And I'm with Thom. Transmitter? Or do you mean act as an FM radio? If you mean radio, it actually has one built in, but you have to download the app from someplace. They can give you links, I have yet to bother with it.

Bother with it ... Bionic FM Radio.

I believe by transmitter they mean being able to send a signal out to a blank frequency on your radio/car stereo and play MP3s off the phone without and cables connecting it. I wish it had that capability as well. Only costs $15 to buy a little transmitter to plug in but it would be great built in.

I didn't think of that, but that is probably what he meant. But, a lot of car radios have a line in these days and you can get a cheap cable for a couple of dollars. The car dock even comes with one. Gives better sound anyway.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm talking about. I am a truck driver who works about 12 hours a day and I'm also a music lover, so I listen to A LOT of music. Having a built in FM transmitter would be extremely convenient. I once saw a T mobile phone that had one. A couple other features on my wish list are, a 'Real' thumbprint scanner to unlock phone and perhaps being able to use the screen as a digital scale.

My $0.02 worth:

#1-I think that micro USB plugs are a PITA, because it's not always obvious which orientation it goes in, so I doubt it being lighted would help that much
#2-I've tried several FM transmitters that plug into the headphone jack, and none of them have worked well enough to actually use. I doubt that an inexpensive transmitter could be added to any phone.
#3-Most cable companies have a way to do this, some work better than others. You can also try this:

Logitech Harmony

My bionic works great with Comcast as a remote control.

How do you get it working with a Comcast box?

You download the Xfinity app and log in with your account and whatever boxes you have attached to your account, you choose one and then can control it. You can scroll through the tv listings and click on a program and it changes the channel. Can even program your DVR which is helpful away from the house.
