Help Thunderbolt fast boot not working

Well I just came back from my local Best Buy and exchanged the phone for a new one and the new one is not doing the fast boot up either. They are now going to reverse my upgrade so I can get a thunderbolt at Verizon. Best Buy thinks they have a bad batch :( this is frustrating!

Interesting...

You heading to Verizon soon? Let us know if one from Verizon works.

Why is this an option and not a permanent feature on the phone? Is there a reason you would want the boot up to take more than 8-9 seconds?

My Fast boot works fine. Just tested it.

Try Uncecking it then re checking it.

Also doesnt seem to work with RESTART Option when you hold the power button. You have to choose POWER OFF.

RESTART seems to do a full power down and power up
POWER OFF with fast boot enabled, Turns the phone on fast when you go to turn it back on.

Remember, Fast boot is like putting your computer into Hibernate mode. It is not a true shutdown, rather it suspends your phone in a deep sleep state.

To Clear memory for when an App is not working correctly, you will want to choose the RESTART option. (When fast boot enabled)

Here is a Video I just Created to show you:

my phone just died, and i hit power, and it did a fast boot. still might wanna exchange it. i'm getting sporadic 4G and horrible battery life.

Back from Best Buy and Im using my old blackberry. I will try Verizon tomorrow. Im sick of running around its already late now. I just don't want a defected phone. So I will check Verizon's stock of thunderbolts tomorrow...

Interesting mine did work when I tried it yesterday.
It's not working today.

Probably something I installed.
I am going to get rid of everything one at a time and see if it's that.

What bothers me is that it was a brand new phone out of the box , nothing downloaded and the fast boot did not work after selecting the option.

Same thing here, I uninstalled all my market apps and it still does not "Fast Boot"

im calling htc right now to see if they know about the problem...

When I called HTC the guy was very unfamiliar with the fast boot option. He said it would not start working until I had installed a lot of apps from the market  hahaha. I just let it go at that, no use in trying to get him to understand.

Let me know what they tell you.

Yeah that's worth a shot.
Please let us know what they tell you.

They said they have no known problems with the phone. They tested 10 phones while I was put on hold and they all worked for them. Im hoping Verizon will have a phone that works for me tomorrow.

Un-installing the apps made no difference to the fast boot. The thing that has me is that a friend has the exact same device and his will not do the fast boot either. Its rather disappointing.

Yes it is. I spent about 3 hours at Best Buy and no luck.

Hmmm factory reset did not work.
I uninstalled everything and that was the last stop.

Bummer... I know it worked.
Don't know if it's a big deal because after all ..... I never turn it off.

That's me, I don't know that I need it. But, if this isn't working I wonder what else might be affected that we have not noticed yet.

Exactly. Which is why I don't wanna keep a defected phone. They may be other things wrong with it like you said

For what It's worth mine was not working either. I flashed the latest ruu and now mine works perfectly. Only downside is it wiped my phone but most things restored after log in.

Maybe there is something to that. Why don't you download 30+ apps and give it a shot :p
