Help Thunderbolt fast boot not working

Works for me too ONLY if Wifi is on. Just turned Wifi off and hit shutdown and it turned off completely. Takes forever to come back on also. With Wifi on, no problem. Makes me wonder if having Wifi on keeps the phone from truely hibernating?

So, I wanted to give this a run as well. I am in a 3G only area. With WiFi on, I can power down the device fully and Fast Boot will work. With WiFi off (No 3G connectivity though, terrible signal at my house) I get the slow boot.

I just tried this as well (although I was pretty sure I had tested the fast boot over 4G and WiFi before)...and I can fast boot connected to WiFi or 4G. Makes no difference.

So I turned off the 4G using the phone info app and the fast boot did NOT work. When I booted up I checked (just for good measure) that the fast boot option was still checked...and it was. So then I powered off again and noticed that it takes longer to power off when on 3G (makes sense cause the phone is shutting off instead of hibernating). Booted up the long way again...

So fast boot works when connected to WiFi or 4G. 3G kills the fast boot option which is really quite baffling

Wow, I just enable my Fastboot option. Bootup was like 7 to 8 seconds. I do have Tango installed and live in a 3G area. No 4G for me, for a while:(

I just tried this over the OTA update and actually it now works with 3G on so far. I live in a 3G-only area. Maybe this was one of the bug fixes?

Right now I'm on my 4th phone. I live in a 3g area. Every phone I have had does not do a fast boot. I tried turning the Wifi on also. No luck. I have also contacted HTC about this. They want me to send my phone in for repair but I declined since I didn't want to wait the 2-3 weeks. In my case it wasn't just a defective phone, all 4 have had the same problems.

Having the same issue. My phone will only fast boot if WIFI is turned on and connected to a network. Don't have 4G here but do when I travel home. I will test there as well.

The new update they released 7/9/11 fixes the problem. Fast boot works all the time now. Also with the new update the give you a new start up screen. The new one doesn't lag which is nice.

I've had fast boot enabled since I first got the phone. I always turn my phone off all the way at the end of the day once I'm done using, but I notice that fast boot still doesn't always seem to work. It'll sometimes do the boot animation, and after the "Thunderbolt" logo disappears, it just sticks on the clouds for about 30-60 seconds.

Just got the new update today, though, so I haven't had enough time to see if this has been fixed. It's not a HUGE deal to me, by any means, I just don't get why sometimes it works, and other times it doesn't.

It works on mine (and it'll be great the next time I fly--always an annoyance to wait for my phone to come on after I turn it off). I didn't expect it to work--I have around 40 apps installed (but not Tango...)
