Root [TOOL] AIO ROOT, UNROOT, and RECOVERY INSTALLER (GUI EDITION)

actually i take that back... it works for me, though it throws an error because the update.zip file doesnt actually exist, try redownloading the files really quick see if that helps

ok, now it works...sorta. It says
"An error occurred while performing this update!"

edit: in the white box behind the error popup it says "Contacting Download Server..."

ok that must be why i'm getting the update error. Sounds like everything is working then :) You know the file not being there and all lol

right, considering there isnt currently an update i didnt think it was extremely important lol, but yea, got done just in time, going to the fireworks show with my family in a few

im gonna modify the rooting and unrooting page by adding in an output that way its able to present you with echos just in case you need to be able to see what its telling you, other than that i think its a pretty good application. and i cant say i dont enjoy having my own file format XD lmao

i didnt want anyone accidentally extracting the wrong zip file and ending up with garbage in their plugins directory so i changed the .zip to .junkie, anyone wanting to modify the functions to match another device can just open it up with any archive manager, i associated .junkie files with the archive manager already on mint and it works flawlessly so feel free to hack away at it

just make sure you name the file something appropriate because the .junkie file name decides the directory which in turn decides the list entry

really nice work junkie2100. It is very nice to have a great app for linux :)

I have not actually tried any of the functions yet (recovery, root, etc), have you? lol

Well... technically no lol. Originally i made dummy files to test the function ao someone will have to check the actual functionality. Ringht now tho im not even at home so me testing it is out

Both installers have been updated for the new framework :)

The following links have downloads to complete installations of JavaAIO for the Warp Sequent and do not require *.junkie files:

Here is Sequent.junkie

thank you superr for helping out with the installer, and i will have an update out soon for the tool using the updater to be able to see whats going on when you hit root, redirecting the terminal output to a box under the buttons

also im going to TRY to make a way to run updater scripts for the plugin directories as well though i make no promises on that one at this point. i had a hell of a time getting the current methods to work and thats just a whole other kind of hurt lol

no problem at all :) As long as you still only need those 3 jar files and they are named the same at the same url (lol) we won't need to update the installers.

The OSX version installer has been updated, tested, and works. I have not tested the functions of the app on osx (ie. rooting, recovery...) but the app itself runs great ;) I also updated the usage instructions. Enjoy!

edit: forgot here is a link back to the JavaAIO OSX Installer - Sequent Edition post

and for those of you who are windows users sorry i havent made a windows based installer yet... if you guys wanna try it out though you can download all the files previously mentioned and create a file named version.txt with this in it
[version]1[/version]
youll need the 3 jar files, a folder names files with the contents of that files zip, and an empty folder named plugins
you then run the devicemenu.jar file to start it, use its install function to install the Sequent.junkie file into the app, and then select it using the menu

Here you go windows users. This is a zip file with all the files and folders set up. This should work with any OS (of course i highly recommend the linux installer if you are on linux so you get the dash integration). It does not grab the newest versions but junkie2100 has created a built-in updater so it should not matter. Enjoy!

JavaAIO_universal.zip - Sequent Edition

*.junkie files are not required if you will only be using this with the Warp Sequent

Usage:
Unzip all files to the same directory. Run DeviceMenu.jar (i presume by double-clicking it)

Just wrote a Nautilus/Nemo script to run jar files from right-click. Extract zip to ~/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts or ~/.gnome2/nemo-scripts respectively.

If you use nemo, replace "nautilus" with "nemo" in the following example.

This is how to install in terminal (one of many ways):

Code:
mkdir ~/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts
cd /path/to/zip/
unzip Run_JAR.zip -d ~/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts

Usage:
In Nautilus/Nemo, right-click the jar file you wish to open, go to scripts, click on Run_JAR, Enjoy!

edit: this is not needed to run JavaAIO in linux, just makes running jar files in general easier

i can now confirm that This root method no longer works with the 4.1.2 update. For recovery installation, i Couldnt try the flash cwm via fastboot because i got a check drivers error so if anyone that has used the fastboot method before please try and see if it will flash cwm, i still believe that it will work via the fastboot method.

@junkie2100 I finally tried the JavaAIO tool to flash stock recovery in linux today. No go. The install button does not do anything. Sorry man :(

i dunno, ill look at it, and fasboot likes to be difficult, it sometimes requires the manual installation of drivers and even linux doesnt like to automatically work for it, but basically i just need to know what worked for who its kinda chaotic in here. someone who has the update and knows that fastboot works for them should try getting it working and report back

Sorry i should have given more detail. I was using the JavaAIO on b09 rooted. I tried to install stock recovery using the fastboot method and terminal method. In both cases, the install button did not do anything. I have debugging enabled of course, adb devices shows my device as it should. I have a udev rule setup for this phone. Hope it helps.

yea i think its the method i used, im not really sure. ill take a look at it later right now i got things to do, lets focus on getting the update cwm flashable right now, then we can deal with this. do me a favor, get cwm back on your phone, get a copy of the partitions i listed in the "fat lady" thread using adb shell through cwm, make sure you keep them safe, then get a copy of the ones off a phone that has been officially updated like theminors using the same method of course, and then apply them using the dd method just like you were installing a recovery through terminal and check your serial numbers and what not make sure none of his sensitive info is on those partitions, and also make sure you dont accidentally flash the recovery partition lol. if it doesnt mess anything up or change your serials then make them a part of a recovery script as if you were just flashing a boot.img, then we should have a fully functional updater, if it does in fact have phone specific info we will have to figure that out... but hopefully its just updating other things

Hey junkie, how can I tell which version of cwm touch I have? I ask because there were a lot of problems with people flashing ROMs, even to the point that super had to make a special zip to enable a total wipe. I'm also having problems flashing ROMs that I'm cooking w/ the kitchen. For example: stock B09 deodexed as the base but with ONLY the launcher changed out = stuck on boot animation.... I'm trying to take this one step at a time, baby steps. Lol. And when I do a factory reset I get this error: E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk1p2 <--is that normal? I just don't know if I need to upgrade/renew cwm touch or what..?

The problem was not cwm, it was me lol. All good now.

Are you having the updater script wipe /system ? Try formatting it manually in cwm mounts/storage, format /system. Flash your rom. If it works that way, your rom is not formatting /system properly.

Hmm... That wasn't it... Is there maybe &/or is it possible a stock apk interfering with what I'm trying to do??
