Root Trickle charge kernels

Had the original Evo before and had some great battery life with trickle charge kernels, are there any available for the triumph? Didn't see any in the root guide. Thanks.

What do you mean by a trickle charge kernel? And how would that help battery life. I mean, the CM7 variants have from good to great battery life. Even some of the stock based ones aren't that bad. As far as out phone goes, it seem that it has more to do with use than any other factor.
 
from what i know and been told about car batteries and trickle charge, i believe its a battery charge thats a lower voltage and is supposed to "stick to the battery better" compared against a normal rapid charge i guess youd call it at the typical 12 volts

Which is supposed to lead to less "battery leak" not actually leaking like fluid, but leaking life, or percentage, so the battery should technically last a little longer


ive personally never seen anything about trickle charging a cell phone, but if anyone could find any evidence on the pro's and con's it be nice i suppose to have the info

Yes, that is it. The SBC kernels. I'll see if I can dig up some links, would be awesome if a dev could give them a look.
 
The Triumph has very good battery management.
I read everything on the links that the posted link lead me too, it seems that our triumph already does that.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Your phones charge up to an amp untill the 90% point then move into trickle change mode anyway. When you have a small battery, there's only so much one can do.

It's decent but my rooted Evo's stock battery would last longer than my Triumph does. I would charge it at night (I call it day 0) and would use it on day 1. Moderate use and at end of day 1 I'd be at 68%; wouldn't need to charge til end of day 2. I don't see battery life like that w/ Triumph.
 
Keep in mind we had a HUGE developer following on the OG EVO. In not sure about the following here but I doubt ill find another community like the OG evos
 
^^^ True. I miss myn's warm 2.2 rom and the netarchy kernels. If I recall correctly, didn't the Photon on Sprint & Triumph on VM arrive at the same time? I wonder if some of their kernels (and other things) are similar enough to be modified for Triumph...
[If I had more time on my hands, I would love to learn more about modifying/building kernels.]

I'm learning myself. That and trying to handle life with my wife and kid.

Eh, too many variables there to draw conclusions from that. Some here report 2 days of usage on a charge, some report 4 hours.
Also, to be fair, the stock evo battery is rated @ 1500mah while the triumph's is 1380.

I did a little more investigation and found that a kernel with this feature may indeed help us, but not much... probably in the ball park of 5% or so... probably not more than a few minutes of actual usage.
