Ninja'd, here was my answer to the Rev - False, there are several others that are harder - from various nanotubes (still involving carbon) or diamonds in non-conventional crystaline forms to structures made from other materials (like boron) to the guy who wrote us to protest that we were violating his first amendment rights by not allowing him to spam you all with his exciting new offers.
I think that whatever was between his ears was among the hardest substances I've encountered yet.

lol. If that was a guess then it was brilliant. I googled it and found the answer on Wikipedia that mentioned the lanolin/sheep/steel wool thing. And actually the answer to mine was F. the first item sold on ebay in 1995 was a laser pointer
