Help UID inconsistent?

has anyone had this message on the evo 4g?
it says UID inconsistent, and to wipe the data partition otherwise your phone will be unstable.

and yes, it has been unstable....force closes everything, and lost my contacts.

what can i do?

Never got this message before. Are you rooted?

i am not rooted....its a stock phone

sounds like you might have something corrupted on your card. try and backup your card to a computer then re-format your card on your phone then copy everything back to your card. hopefully that will work. if not then it might be a bad card.
