You have rom manager correct? That is how you initially flashed it right? If so, go back into it and flash clockworkmod recovery again, first tab.

Finally got it to work. Turns out the app was just being ******ed in flashing cmw. But now I'm all backed up. Lol.

Got cm7 installed.. but it gets stuck on the screen with the blue android guy on a skateboard. Maybe I got a bad download? Could I flash back to stock and download a better version to my SD and try again?

Yes, just restore your back up in cwm. How long did you wait for the blue screen?

Several minutes at least. A couple of times it went to my unlock screen as if it had worked, but it just froze and went back to the blue screen again. I'm flashed back to stock currently and I'm gonna see if I can find a different version and install from SD card instead.

Hey I wanted everyone to know that I did get it working! I have cm7 now. But for whatever reason, Toke's way of getting cmw didn't work for me at all, so I did it the regular way through ROM manager. But I did have to use Toke's instructions for installing cm7. Just throwing that bit of advice out there for anyone else who has the same troubles with it I did. Thanks everyone! I'm completely digging this!

Ok so I follow everything typed in the guide to install cm7 but once I reboot my ascend it stays on the Boot Screen ive been trying for the last couple of days to get it working im using the CWMod from icarus but still nothing can anyone give me some help idk if anyone has had this happen but I havent found anyone saying they have... Anyone have ideas?

Two possibilities here...

1. You have a bad download. Try redownloading and make sure the file sizes match upon çompletion.

2 you have one of the ascends that don't take well to cm mods. My friend has an issue flashing them to his phone. They like to bootloop unless everything Is perfect.

The same thing happened to me. I had to install cm7 the way you instructed to get out of bootloop, though I install cwm from ROM Manager.

Maybe it'll work for that guy.

ok so i tried dl-ing cm6 but no luck when ever i look for the sip file in cwm its not there and the aborts it all and i have to recover cause i cleared every thing and i am un able to down load those links from my phone. any help is welcomed

select "mobile networks" then "access point names"
ress the menu button and select "new apn"
fill in with the following:

Name: MetroPCS

Password: <Not set>

Server: <Not set>

MMSC: http://mms.metropcs.net:3128/mmsc

MMS proxy: <Not set>

if you are with metro, just flash metro-off v1.3 MetrOFF-v1.3-MMS-GB-Edify-CM_ASOP-No_Roaming_indicator_Off_signed.zip than it should work for you and you dont have to open apn, and if you have cricket than you dont need to do anything, it works right after flashing cm7.

Use a card reader to put the zips in the main area of your SD. As in not in any folders.
