Root Ultimate Droid 8 for Incredible

I cannot even get pass the initial Android setup wizard.
somehow the touch screen become extremely ******ed! ???

Update: Reboot twice, shut down twice.. NO GOOD still.
Last try, it actually HUNG there at the startup wizard. I PULL the battery, and this time... the touch screen seems VERY responsive!... and moving so far. So let see..

Update: after pulling the battery, everything seems ok. typed in my gmail account, and it is signing in..... For 5 mins now... still waiting....

Update: Gave up... I just reboot (by holding the power button).... I will give it a try one more time.

Last Update: Sorry, doesn't matter how much I don't want to say... this ROM SUCKS. it won't work at all! touch screen is not responsive at all, random reboot, cannot signin (after waiting 10 mins), .no comment

I skip over the startup wizard, and I manage to get into android... but it randomly reboot....
All I want to do now is get it connect to my computer, so I can copy back my old rom back.

i was using CM6.0.1, give it a try.... spent about 45 mins on it.. NO GOOD.. cannot even get it to operate. I was lucky enough to get it into USB mode and copy the CM6.0.1 rom before it reboots... I was lucky... otherwise I be stuck with a junk phone till I get home from work.

No microSD card reader with me.

Definitely let the Developer know about the issues you're having. We want the community to have as many solid ROM options as possible.

seems to be running fine on mine. installed set cpu, and dropped from 115 to 113.

been running it for over an hour and a half, no reboots yet. fingers crossed*

Has anybody else tried this with a positive outcome? I am way tempted to try this because I like all the different options it has and I like the theme of it. Sounds really unstable though. I may try it tonight and so I'll report back with any findings.

i was able to install it and run it for a half hour or so. no LEDs, no internal storage mount(for me), tons of customizations, very dark theme but pretty cool, was very responsive and no boot loops for me. but it has the same basic problems as all the other aosp roms.

I have been running this ROM all day. No re-boots. No problems. I have the newer radio update and have full control over my camera and video. Make sure that you wipe all data before install. Crimton asked if this developer updates regularly. He certainly did with D1 roms. I see no reason for this to change with DINC roms.

Does anyone know where to find Koush's stock speed kernel that's in CM6.0.1? This rom's overclocked too much for my phone and I'm getting bootloops.

Despite what a few others have said, this rom has been the most stable AOSP based rom for me so far. CM and ID both would give me random boots (not full reboots, just reboot from the bootanimation). So far I have not had one reboot (knock on wood). Its weird because with CM I had to clock it at 998 for it to even work. 1.15 would just freeze up my phone and what not, but on this rom, I can actually run at 1.15.

Is there anything specific you guys did? I spent another 30 mins on it, and I gave up completely. I cannot even get it to run longer than 2 minutes before it hangs or reboots!!

I am using Radio 2.15, S-OFF, and been running CM6.0.1.
I just did a cache, partition wipe, then install the update.zip (renamed it)
Then reboot, and I had all those problems.

I actually want to use this rom very much as well!
BTW, anyone knows if this rom support HID bluetooth?

wiped n reset...flashed the rom. all seemed good for 30 min or so. went out to mow the lawn and started pandora. after 15 min, pandora FC'd. restarted pandora and it ran for another 5 min or so. music stopped again so i pulled it out and the phone was off. odd since i had 30% battery left. wouldnt power back on. tried multiple times and it was dark. so dark.

pulled the battery for a few minutes and was able to power on and boot into recovery.

restored my 4th wave rom and am back in business.

That's interesting. Thanks for posting your findings. I think I'm going to try it. I'll report back with any problems/successes.

UPDATE: Yup, didn't work. Just sat there on the boot animation. Had to restore back to CM6 (which I don't mind because I love it!). Hopefully they get the kinks out of this ROM because it intrigues me.

Wow oh wow oh wow! What an annoying ordeal. I have been trying to get this thing booted for 2 hours just to check it out before wiping and flashing 4th Wave. I did finally manage to get past the wizard but it has been nothing but constant reboots through the whole ordeal. PITA

Think I'm going to wait until Ruby comes out. Seems like too many people are having serious problems with this ROM. Also not crazy about all the drama surrounding it.

fyi, you can mount your sd card from recovery and copy to the card from PC from there so you didn't have to worry about the reboots

Also not crazy about all the drama surrounding it.
