Root un root?

Long story short, wife dropped her rooted EVO and cracked the screen. We have TEP, should I unroot, or will Sprint fix this?
 
Since this is a hardware issue it should be ok if you're phone is rooted. I would flash a stock ROM though if you can do it. I do not think you need to unroot it.
 
alright, here is the scoop. I dont know if it is because the evo is EOL, but Sprint gave me the 1-800 number for the "insurance" company and said I should call them directly to have a replacement overnighted to me..I called from my work phone, so I asked about Root, he said since I am sending it back it wont matter...they didnt even ask.

**plus the $100 deductible prob eases their pain about the dreaded "root" haha
 
yeah, didnt know that until today..(never had to use it). i guess apparently sprint will keep some things on hand though to fix themselves out of courtesy and for ease. cool, no complaints!

Still wondering to myself if TEP is worth it...over the years I have paid quite a bit in...this is the first I've had to use it..and STILL had to pay $100.
 
WHen you consider the actual cost of the device when it was new was probably around $600 paying $100 for another one isnt too bad.

Granted you can get another used one for around $50 nowadays though. You just have to hope its not stolen or otherwise bricked in some way
