Help Unable to connect Samsung Galaxy S2 to Windows 8

Hello.

I'm some what new to Windows 8 and I am having major issues.

I would like to connect to Samsung Galaxy S2 (Model number is SGH-T989) to my Asus Windows 8 laptop to transfer files and such. PLEASE HELP!!! I've gone through all the hints and suggestions from Bing and that just did not help.

Do you have the correct drivers installed? Have you tried Kies?

I haven't tried Kies... Where can I get that?

What other programs you got for me that I can try?

Not sure why kies would not work unless again its a driver issue. However I use Airdroid for all my file transfers and such. It is a simple program that does not require cables just a simple wifi connection to your devices and your in business.

Another vote for AirDroid, it doesn't require any drivers or proprietary software like Kies, just needs a browser and that's it, so simple.

Is the Windows 8 an RT version or a full Windows 8? And Bing? Are you on desktop mode or on the Start screen?

Are you sure you are using a days cable to connect to your laptop?

I will try Airdroid, and it's 8.1 if that helps any. I'm not exactly sure what you guys are talking about. Sorry not that in depth with computers

Are you looking at what seems to be the desktop similar to Windows 7, or are you looking at like, the screen with tiles.
