Root Unbrick Phone from LG Screen

how can i do this for the optimus slider?
tried to install fonts and bricked...

Gotta find an unbrick thread for that phone somewhere, if you can still get into recovery then your not bricked, if you are in fastboot then try finding the get out of fast boot thread for your phone.

so everytime i try to register the ms690.dll this comes up:

HRESULT == 0X80020009
Exception occurred.

so when i go ahead and try to select the ms690.dll file from the dll in lgnpst it's not there except for C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 2.0\LGNPST_Utility2.dll

what am i doing wrong?

what was the answer???? plzzz

Hello! First post, long time reader :)

for those that cant select the dll file:

~open cmd window (start menu and type cmd in search box) then right click and run as admin

~type in (or paste) regsvr32 "C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Model\MTP\MS690.dll" (if that is your path, if not, change it accordingly)

~open LGNPST, and your file should be in there.

Hope this helps

So many users have been using Rom Manager and are getting stuck at the Lg Logo. Well now there`s a way to unbrick your phone and avoid the need of a replacement.

To get your phone to be recognized by the PC; take your battery out. With the battery out press and hold this combination of keys: Back key + Camera. With the keys hold down plug in your charger to the phone. (AC connected to the wall or connected to USB) Your phone should boot to S/W Upgrade mode. Now the battery can be placed back again. If you got to S/W Upgrade mode by the AC charger method now its time to connect phone to the PC.

Now make sure that LGNPST and drivers are installed on your pc correctly. (Go here if you need to install LGNPST and drivers. Follow the guide until where you need to open LGNPST.

Then Open up LGNPST and make sure that the program recognizes the phone. It should be under the EMERGENCY tab. (Dont worry if is says UNKNOWN under Model).

Now Select the dll file. The file name is MS690.dll where it says dll.
Then Download this file extract the folders somewhere on your PC. While on LGNPST navigate to the extracted Bin folder and select it as the .bin file. The file name should be MS690ZV7_08.bin

Then click start. Let the process get to 100%

Now your phone will try to start up but the battery will blink or charge. If it`s blinking all you have to do is: plug it to the wall let it charge a little bit, then turn it on. If it charges then let it charge a little and then turn it on.

Your phone will be back to stock mode to 2.2.2. And also unbricked.

Hope this helps.

PS Thanks to sammyz for the 2.2.2 link.
i there similar way to do this for rezound?

Hi, i've not been in the LG Optimus M threads since i got my E3D but i want to now restore my old brick M to full glory just to mess around with it. i've done everything in your steps successfully except for booting/charging, my phone seems to go through a sort of loop where it shows the LG logo for a second then blanks, then shows it again. can anyone help me understand as to why it would be doing this?

What was on the phone before you followed the guide? If CM7 was on it, try to enter recovery mode:
(Home+Volume Down+Power) from powered off.

If it still only flashes LG logo, repeat the process again and make sure you do not unplug it until it reaches 100%
