Root Unbricking your Sprint or Virgin Mobile USA phone using official tools and dll and bin files

Hey virgin mobile users, anybody had a issue with my method about unbricking there device. I got some pm saying it doesn't work. Or is the user not reading the directions? Please send me some feedback

I might test it sometime soon, accidentally screwed my stock backup so should prob make another one.

I didn't use them to un brick. But they did get me back to stock to send back to VM just fine. Aside from the above issue.

Having the same problems as jahwillprovide. When I press the arrow it just says ready on which ever port I select and then nothing. Can not click or right click the ready. I can open the log but there is nothing there.

There are also 4 .dll files included, it never says in the guide which to use. Two are not selectable, the other two are:
LGVM696_20120507_LGFLASHv141.dll
LG696_201220323_LGFLASHv1350.dll

More info on the configuration would be great, what port settings (LIMO Port? Control Port for Equipment etc)? What action mode?

After trying for quite some time last night and having no luck at all, I tried again this morning and it is at 19% right now.

When I uploaded too new server. I added couple files by mistake. will clear that up. Please tell me what is wrong with the guide

the reason why I didn't give details on that can damage somethings thats why I gave details on what you can change. If I didn't mention it too change it don't do it

OP Is updated with some changes in directions and correct download zip for virgin mobile users is now correct

My phone won't charge.Only way it stays on if connected via usb cable.

I would try too go back to factory reset. If you have custom recovery you might want to read how too do a reset. Other wise you can follow my unbrick method and put the phone too out of box

Similar to others who have posted here, I am having the problem where you get it all set up, click the arrow in the upper left, plug in the usb cable to the phone, and nothing happens.

I have been through the procedure a number of times and have re-checked all the settings.

is there some way to debug this? Why use COM41 for the modem? how does the flash tool know how to find the right port?

There are multiple DLL's in the zip file I downloaded but it chose to use this one: LGVM696_20120507_LGFLASHv141.dll

I assume this is the correct one?

Any advice from those who ran into this same problem?

LGVM696_20120507_LGFLASHv141.dll is the only dll you select and you select the bin in manual settings as well

If you have teamviewer for windows I can help you by remote access . Just PM Me ID and Password. and your time zone and I will meet up with you

I read re-read, and re-re-read the steps. Tried it once, tried it twice, tried it five time... But it doesn't want to start the flash. Unplugged the device, reconnected the device, but still no luck. Any suggestions?

More information about what you've tried would help. Have you tried reinstalling drivers or plugging the phone into another port?

I can see my phone on device manager but when i run the lg flash tool and follow the steps the best i get is it saying the com port is ready after i hit the start button. I have a vm elite. Anyways when I hit start the comport says ready in yellow and then nothing. It does not start or anything. I have unplugged the phone and plugged it back in changed com ports on the flash tool as well as the computer. I run it as admin but still nothing. Am i missing a step? Thanks.

Thanks a ton for this.....kept having issues with an sd card and eventually in trying to fix I bricked my phone, this got it back to factory without much trouble. Awesome!
