Root Uninstall ROM Manager !

Hi
I used unrevoke to root my stock 2.2 desire.
The added Rom Manager...

Since them I've insatlled cyanogen 7 and restored my apps using Titanium Backup..

Now Rom Manager won't uninstall.. All I get is 'uninstall unsuccessful'

How the heck do I get rid of it ! ?

its installed to system with cm7
you will need to remove by either booting recovery, mounting system and using adb shell to remove it

or

opening the zip file, removing it from the zip and reflashing the zip

remember to do a nandroid 1st
 
Just google search and found I should use Titanium Backup to remove it.
I've don't that but it still shows in my app draw and in appbrain and market !

errr.. now what ?
 
Will do what? You can ONLY remove an app on the /system when booted if you're S-OFF. If not, you HAVE to either do it via recovery or just remove it from the ROM and reflash it (without wiping data)
 
Thanks I do have the SDK, just want to check that was it.

Can this be done mounting whilst booted or from recovery ?
(that's what I should have asked.. not how do you mount !)

Is the adb fastboot FAQ Eddy has linked to earlier.
There is also a guide to uninstalling system apps.

read teh adb fastboot faq then go through the guide. Combining these 2 gives you literally everything you need to do this. However, deleting it from the rom and reflashing is a far simpler and faster method to do this. As you're flashing the same rom, you dont even need to wipe data

I've had a go doing this from adb as I have it install on an Ubuntu laptop !!

all connects and followed:
adb remount adb shell rm -f /system/app/<apk name>.apk adb uninstall <package name>

first 2 commands OK, last command fails with 'pm' not found.
How do I fix that... OR

What do I delete from the zip ? is it just the RomManager.apk from /system ?

The ROM I flashed is called update-cm-7.0.3-Desire-signed.zip
Does 'signed' matter if I start deleting file from the zip ?

It doesnt say that anywhere in my removing system apps guide. I can only summise you are reading it somewhere else.

Didnt know you were on ubuntu though.

But should still only be

My laptop is triple boot 7, XP & Ubuntu.
Forgot I'd installed the SDK on to ubuntu for taking some screenshots.

That code was taken from the cyanogenmod barebone wiki
Just rebooted my phone and it's gone !! :D

Is CM7 Light any better on the battery ??

CM7 is great, but it does seem to like eating my battery.. I have done the calibration etc..

no its not,
the kernel is quite heavy on CM
i would recommend using the Manu 2.0 axi kernels from eviolette
 
Is there a guide to the correct version for my phone running CM7 and how to install and configure it ?

I had thought of trying GingerVillian, but I've read there are GPS issues..
So I might hang on for that.
 
I've been having a read of that thread on xda, but didn't see any mention of installation or which kernel to use.

I'll have another read.. and post back if I can't find it !

From what I've read and from your recommendation, It's a choice between HAVS-AXI-BFS or SVS-AXI-BFS

Which version would you recommend. ?
