I've seen Evo's advertised this way on eBay. Is that just referring to S-On/S-Off?

most likely yes, they will have s-off as that is the only way to flash boost onto the evo. i could totally be wrong though. never done it or have seen it done.

and here... this one is for metro, but i believe that the process would be more similar than different since its all about having the sprint devices' esn on the providers list rather than having root access.... i didnt read these threads entirely, but seemed like promising leads... good luck yo...
