Root unrevoke 3

Did you get any error messages the first time around? Do you have s-off? Yeah, go ahead and try again, but it might be pointless depending on how far you got last time. If didn't get very far, it might not again. If you have s-off, though, go for it. It should work. If not, we can try some other stuff.

I ran unrevoked again and i get

s-off
hboot 2.1.0001
microp 041f
radio-2.15.00.11.19
0ctober 15, 2010

should i try recovery again?

Check recovery, and check for su in the terminal. If you have both, then you're good. If you're missing one or the other, well...s-off is all you need. You'll just have to do the rest manually. It's not too hard; I can help you out if need be. Check those two things first.

denied with terminal. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Are you getting any error messages when you run unrevoked? Have you tried wiping the phone? Do you have anything you need to save in case you need to wipe data?

Hm, it's worth a shot if you've got nothing to lose. If that doesn't help, I'll give you the steps to finish manually.

Start by following the instructions above for flashing Clockwork 2.6.0.1. Once that is done, you can flash a custom or stock rooted ROM. Go ahead and get Clockwork flashed first.

i moved the renamed clockwork recovery to the sd card and it says "please insert the last multi volume disk" What is that?

ok renamed the file, put it on my zip, hboot says image not found, nothing happens. I suck

Don't worry, we'll get it figured out :).

1) Did you make sure not to unzip the file?
2) If you're using windows, did you make sure not to accidentally rename the file to PC36IMG.zip.zip? Windows hides extensions by default.
3) Are you using the stock sdcard or a different one?

I looked in the file on the sdcard and the image file is in there along with a text file.

Did it have .zip on the end before you downloaded it? Turn the phone on, then browse to it using any file explorer (like astro or estrongs) and see if it has two .zip extensions on the end.

ok i declined the update and went into recovery, wiped davlik and cache. Am backing up now. will flash a rom, my old phone had Myn's 2.2 rs5. I assume I don't have to flash radios since this is a current version. Do you like Myn or do you recommend another ROM? i have also never flashed a custom kernel, do you recommend that?

What is asking you if you want to update? Are you talking about going back to hboot?

EDIT: Sorry missed your last post. So you got recovery flashed ok, then? What update were you prompted for? If you have the latest OTA, you shouldn't be prompted for anything. What did it say. Declining it was smart, but I'm just curious. Anyway, since you have the latest radios, there is no no need to flash them. You'll need to whenever get a new OTA, but you're good for now. As for ROM choice, Myn's is fine. I'm using Mikfroyo 4.4 right now, as it's a little lighter weight, and runs a bit faster. They're both good choices. There are many threads in this section about ROM choices, so look around if you want to try something else. As for kernel choice, I recommend you stick with the stock kernel for a couple days, or at least a couple charge cycles after flashing a ROM. Then decide from there if you want to try a different one.
