Root Unrooting my EVO.. HELP!

I'm lost here.. I'm trying to unroot my phone to get it serviced tomorrow because the charging port is not working. I followed the unrooting section of http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html. What im baffled about now is that I still have s-off but I have the stock ROM now. When I go into recovery I get the lil phone thing and two arrows, shortly after I get a red triangle with an exclamation point. What do I need to do?

it is basically a two step process where you get s-on then install the stock rom and recovery. not sure what happened when you tried to get s-on, but you managed to install the stock rom and recovery. so either something went wrong with the s-on process or you skipped that part.

if you can get into your recovery, restore your stock rom.once it boots up,and you are running your stock, from your pc,go to unrevoked forever son and follow what it says to do.make sure usb debugging is checked and make sure you are mounted to the disk drive when you plug the phone into the pc,and you should be good to go

Not sure this is an option since op stated bad charging port. May not be a reliable way for her especially if it's hit and miss

Am I missing something here. I can't find the info on how to Unroot my Evo with Gingerbread anywhere.. I need to unroot mine also so I can take it in for warranty work.

well then she might wanna think about wether or not she has tep,and and go crazy with it with it till it wont come on and re-order a new one.my friend had one and something happened to it to where it would take a pc36img,and i still rean the unrevoked foreverson tool and it took.idk, but that sounds like it could be an option for her
