Root Unrooting, PC26IMG.zip not updating

Okay, well this is the file you need:

MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

I know this one works, if this is the one you already tried, make sure you rename it to PC36IMG.zip, exactly. Make sure you don't unzip it or accidentally name it PC36IMG.zip.zip (windows hides extensions by default). You need to put it at the top level of the card, not under any folders. I'll ask you as well, are you using the stock card or a different one?

I named it correctly this time, I unrooted once before and named it .zip, which in turn was .zip.zip. The file I downloaded was from the ROOTING for dummies guide, which this file looks familiar in name, so I don't know if it's the same or not? It was from megaupload. Yes he's using the stock SD card. I'm thinking of using my SD card for the unroot process (Patriot 16gb class 10).

Yeah, it's probably the same file, as long as it's for the same hboot version. Is that the file you tried (the one for hboot 2.10 - sw version 3.70)? Assuming it is, you're saying that this is the stock card, with a PC36IMG.zip that you know is in the right place and named the correct thing, but still not working. Is that correct?

That's correct, for hboot 2.10 and sw 3.70. It's in the correct place (in no subfolders, on the ROOT of the card) and named correct. I verified it was correct by going into flash zip in RA and it only had 1 .zip present. The phone recognizes it, then goes to a screen where it says "checking PC36IMG" then dumps me right back into the main HBOOT screen. Skipping the verification step, VOL UP or VOL DOWN.

Interesting. I'd say first try a different sdcard (use your 16 GB one, or if you still have your stock card, use that), then if that still doesn't work, try redownloading the file from the other link. It could be a bad file or a bad download.

Ok, thanks. I deleted the previous download and will try the 1 you posted. I'm going to put the file on my stock 8GB card and try it tomorrow when he stops into my work. If not I'll try my 16GB card. I'll post the results.

Worked like a charm on my other SD card. Thanks, like always, akazabam.

ETA: There was debris stuck in the vibrate motor, causing it to not spin.

No problem. I will tell people to stop using that file until I figure out why it's not working. Glad you got the newer one to work.

Thanks for the update. Yeah, as it turns out, these files just don't like to flash if there is anything wrong with the sdcard. I have yet to figure out the exact details, especially when it's the stock card like that. Glad you got it working :).
