Root Update Notification

If youre rooted with custom recovery, just try to install it. It will fail and then just reboot from recovery and itll be gone

So just go through the process then when it fails it will be gone or do I have to try installing it from recovery menu

abezilla if you are rooted open root explorer or something similar and give me the name of the zip file. it should be in /cache or terminal emulator and do. su then ls -l /cache

Is Verizon pushing it out to some people yet? I temporarily went back to stock and could see the 120.43MB download via LG Mobile Update but nothing via the update App yet.

Nope. Its useless. Buddy from LG sent me the name of the file, and since I knew the OTA url i could pull it since it got accidentally pushed/or for surprise beta testing to a couple people last week. Only thing thats really fixed is SMS which is in 1.1 and a bunch of background crap. Not even a new radio. New kernel with background crap. Nothing else really.

okay so i'm slow on the uptake, I got the notification this morning, I just need to go through the install steps, it will fail, do a reboot of the phone and it'll be gone?

i could really use the update for the sms... i really hate how slow it sends out it keeps getting stuck in the system when i try to send out and one comes in...

Yupp! The notification will go away

Its not a fix for that. The phone will always give priority to incoming texts. Its a routing issue. There was a bug casing them to be sent to the wrong contact. If youre not running velocity i would update. But if you are its useless.

I finally got around to installing velocity 1.1 and only had a couple problems probably related to me using SOC before I installed velocity 1.0 for the first time. I had to redo my clockwork recovery flash to fix my phone hanging on fastboot when trying to boot into recovery. The only problem I have now is that the 2.2.2 update notification keeps popping up. Anyone have a way of blocking it? It is pretty annoying.

i did too. i tried to install the app they say is needed but i couldnt find it in the market.

If you search the market on the web (not through the app), you can find it. But it won't install on velocity 1.1. (that's why the market app won't show it to you).

I have taken the update and let it fail now 3 times. The last 2 times, I did not exit the install program before rebooting. See if it takes this time.
