Update on the Official Phandroid Application

Was wondering if there is a way to mark a forum as read using the new APP? Currently the way I do this is to physically go to the website from my computer and select "Mark Forum Read". Is there a way to do this from the App?

Not that I've found.

Update to the application now available in the market.

It updates the currently installed market version. The beta.. beta.. install available to staff/premium should remain unaffected.

Rob may post a changelog here.

Should I uninstall the one I've got installed (it's from the last one posted here) before upgrading to the one in the market, or will you be posting the update here - because they don't install on top of each other.

Is it pointless to leave the beta... beta installed though. If the features in the beta beta have been implemented in the market version then it seems, for the time being, that there is no need for 2 versions to be installed

Thank you, NightAngel, I'd rather not have two installations :)

Your welcome but i meant to frame my post as a question... (mostly directed at phases)... That IS how i am looking at it, plus the beta beta was FC'ing like crazy so i think for now i will as well be getting rid of that one and sticking with the market one only.
I didn't like having both installed in the first place but wanted to leave market one so i got the update as soon as possible. I think in the future i will just leave one or the other installed and switch back and forth as market updates and newer betas come out

Well if the features have been moved over to the market version then there is no point, correct. Just keep an eye out for a new version of THAT one testing more upcoming features. :)

I'm saying you can remove the version from the staff/premium original beta thread - but check back often as we may release another .apk to test before pushing to market. :)

I'm having two problems with the updated version. First, links posted in threads don't open up the browser anymore. I tried re-booting but still links don't pull up the browser.

Second, the app does not remember the Sort order for threads. I like to view threads with newest posts first, but it always defaults back to an alphabetical sort.
Thanks.

Im finding the news and pm services take up a lot of RAM between them. Upto 60MB sometimes.

I manually refresh pm and don't use.news..

Would it be possible in a future update to only run these services if the user uses that functionality

Hmm yeah. Just updated and posts are in alphabetical order as previously mentioned. reverted back to previous version.

Some more info on the first issue. It seems standard links to websites do open up the browser. However if you have a link to a file, the older version used to open up the browser and start downloading the file. The new version does absolutely nothing. It would be great if this could be fixed as this is the primary method i download roms/themes/kernels.

Thanks!

I saw this too with the last update and then I realized the "default sort" method has changed!

If you go to Menu -> Sort Threads and choose "By last post desc", it goes back to normal!

My only gripe with this is that if you back all the way out of the app, you need to change the default sort again.

Kind of annoying to be honest!

Yep, subscriptions are listed on order of latest post, other forums are listed alphabitically.
See above^...
