Nevermind, I finally figured it all out, and installed PRL 3024. No 3G at the house, but will check at work in Ft. Worth, TX tomorrow. Thanks!

Once you have 3g is your network supposed to be set to Metropcs or automatic?

9. On the main menu setting tab click read from phone and will obtain phone info it will ask for ur spc
10. Spc code can be obtained through cdma workshop or by using checkesnfree.com Get Spc
11. Look for roam tab and there will be an option under preferred roaming to search for new prl locate it and select write it will ask for ur spc code again
I AM STUCK ON STEP#9. DO I HIT OK AND ENTER ALL THE 0s FOR THE SERVICE PROGRAM CODE? OR DO I MANUALLY PUT IN THE SPC CODE IN GOT FROM checkesnfree.com AT THIS STEP?
ALSO, AT STEP#11, HOW DO I WRITE OR SAVE THE NEW DOWNLOADED PRL3024 TO MY PHONE?
IM A NOOB SO PLEASE EXCUSE THE DUMB QUESTIONS. IM STILL LEARNING.

Use your SPC that you got from checkesnfree.com. the prl part, hit the browse button and wherever you put it on you computer find it and click on it.ANY BODY OUT THERE? QUICK QUESTION?
ALSO, STEP#11, HOW DO I ENTER OR SAVE THE NEW 3024 PRL TO MY PHONE?

Ok. In the Phone Selection part, the program listed another number and not mine; following the instruction to the T, 
I continued on and uploaded the new PRL to my phone successfully.
After rebooting the phone, I checked settings and verified that I PRL 3024 was installed; but, I noticed that the MIN was changed (from my number)
to the number listed in the PHONE SELECTION when I started the steps. Question, how do I put my number back in the MIN? Other then that, no 3g here in Wyoming, MI but I do get full signal bars in places I was only getting 1-2 signal bars. The steps work.

You should be ok, cause i think the program reads your MIN from your phone. You might just be looking at the wrong numbers thinking it's your MIN. The location of your MIN is underneath your battery, not in settings. Check there and see if those numbers match whats in the program.8. Your Phone number is your MDN the MIN is basicly a security code that your phone uses to connect to the carrier network.
Years ago they were the same but with the advent of cloning phones its harder to clone if you dont know the MIN.

I'm not sure, but i think you have to have the Ascend's drivers to add the port to QPST and the SPC code for the Ascend. Once you do that, just hit the read from phone button and see if the Ascend's information pulls up. Again i'm not sure, so somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

You can revert and use the same steps as long as you have the prl you want or had which is pretty easy since they are floating all around the forum here in various threads.
If you're running stock you can always dial *228 also and Metro will put you back on their latest one.

it seems I have Prl 3026 im sure everything has updated since this post. is it possible the older prls will work better? curious if Metro keeps downing the cap limit to adjust for new users.

I used to be on prl 3026. But I had more better speeds with prl 3025. I've been noticing my 3G has been going on and off and turning into 1x at unusual times. Maybe metro is getting a new prl?

I have noticed that too, but in my area speeds are better with 3026 than 3025.

just downgraded to 3025, right after it said 3g but went back to 1x.. did speed test and throughout the test i noticed the speed kept getting higher.. 15kps on up and down with 1x only having 1 bar. so its improved i guess..i think i bypassed 3025 with my *228 update before rooting
