Help! I just ran this tool. In command prompt, I seem to be stuck with "waiting for reboot". My phone has since rebooted but there is no debugging or internet connection icon in the notification bar. Should I do something or continue waiting?
Edit: When I picked up the phone, I guess the connection wiggled and the icons came back but the prompt said that everything failed. Now it is stuck saying "rebooting one last time". My phone is rebooted, the debugging and internet connection icons are showing but nothing is happening. What should I do?

I knew this was going to happen. I waited almost 6 months to finally do this and I can't get any replies. Since it is still saying "rebooting one last time" after 30+ min, I'm going to x out of the command prompt and start over. Hope I'm making the right choice
Are you using the stock cable? If you aren't, you should. If you don't have one... expect issues like that. Exiting out of the command prompt shouldn't mess anything up as long as the phone booted. If it doesn't boot. That's a different story.
Hopefully you used something like Carbon (assume you weren't rooted for Titanium Backup) to backup everything you can before you started.

Forgive any and all previous posts, I sounded like an idiot. After some additional research, I may know more about the subject, or at least I think I do...
I have discovered my LG Spectrum 1 has the 4.0.4 which I believe is the ICS everyone is talking about, as it came stock with the phone, I think it's the OTA ICS.
My desire is to root my phone for performance, battery life, customization, and not have a brick. There seems to be some debate as to if CWM should be installed or not as it will cause the phone to brick. Is this because the phone is older and I'm just coming in the game late after the ICS flashing phase on GB? Or is there concern for the OTA ICS being bricked with CWM? Also, does this have anything to do with the unlocking of the bootloader?

From what I understand, this tool will root, unlock the bootloader, and flash CWM, but is this what I need to do? I also wish to create a nandroid backup just in case the worst should happen, but CWM seems to be the route to go there from other posts.

If you boot loop or cannot boot, can you read the simple instructions to cab flash back? If not, do not even root.
Read more threads in the all things root section and you will see a lot of spec owners have cwm running, as we all are flashing JB ROMs.
Maybe before this tool, it caused a brick, but I haven't heard of anything a cab flash didn't fix.

I've used the tool from that thread to root and unlock the bootloader on the stock ROM v4 (GB), v6 (GB), v7 (ICS), and v8 (ICS) with no issues. As long as you follow the instructions on these boards, you should be fine to root your phone and, optional, replace the entire stock ROM with a custom ROM. Personally, I'm running the latest nightlies from CM 10.1 (official) and it's very stable and usable for me.
As Uzephi mentioned, you definitely want to be comfortable with CAB flashing "just in case". If anything does go wrong, you can post on the board or drop a PM if yo need help.
Keep in mind that "rooting" is pretty much the same as "su" on Linux or "Run as Administrator". Once you do that, you're empowering yourself (and any apps you install/run/approve) to do very powerful (and, at times, risky) things to your system.

not sure if this related or not but here we go:
so yesterday I ran the tool from this thread and everything went okay, except after it did its thing and rebooted and told me everything was okay I disconnected it from my computer. double checked that the root went thru okay, verified that CWM went in okay.
Then when I reconnected it to my computer, the computer wouldn't see the phone. Now I have all the latest usb drivers for my spectrum, I have the SDK with everything updated, have *NEVER* had a problem till right after I ran the tool....
any idea why now all of a sudden my computer will not see my phone when it seen it just fine for around a year before I unlocked the bootloader and rooted?
I uninstalled the drivers, and reinstalled the verizon drivers and when I reconnect the phone, it says windows can't find drivers for my phone yet I reinstalled the same exact drivers I used the first time when my phone could connect...
(yes I even changed the connection options around from charge only to mass storage to internet ect... no luck anywhere)

The situation : Your phone is on ICS and now you can't get it to connect to your computer no matter what you try.
The cause (1) : Something in either the unlocked kernel or in V7 itself turns adb off and doesn't turn it back on. This is either an init setting we haven't fixed or something in usbhub switching.
The solution (1) : Reboot your phone with it attached to your computer. ADB starts on boot always and so does the USB hub. It's a PITA, but it's the current work around until we find the real issue.

You have that mostly correct. Bluetooth gets broken on Stock ICS Roms and roms based off the Stock ICS. CM9 had functional bluetooth, but we went straight into CM10 when TDM fixed the kernel source.
If imagine pretty much the same since its the same kernel. Maybe they have differences in the management software or something.... I dunno. that would be the only thing that might be different

Here is a question. I have been running Elemental X since it came out, but it was getting a little buggy for me. Random reboots, lag, etc. So I decided to just go back to stock ICS for awhile. So I did a nandroid to a version I had saved and when I looked at my phone again, I noticed it was in CWM saying something about a failed update. So, I realized this must be the V8 update from VZW since I was on V7. My nandroid of ICS stock was rooted so it won't take the update. Should I unroot to take it and then reroot? Or is there a way to block the update? Thanks!

I just ran this. I wasnt rooted and now im rooted, but i dont know if the bootloader is unlocked with cwm recovery. Do i have to run it again to unlock the bootloader and install the custom recovery or i only needed to run it once? I need help please.

This tool unlocks bootloader. You should be good to go if you followed instructions in the opening post.

When i opened rom manager, it asked me to set up a custom recovery. I assumed that the recovery was installed, so i pressed cwm recovery and it asked me which version i had. It only gave me the options of either version 2.x.x or 3.x.x, not cwm touch. I pressed 3.x.x and when i tried to reboot into recovery using the app, it asked for superuser permissions (I accepted) and "superuser has stopped working" popped up and my phone just rebooted. Any ideas. I checked root checker and it verified that i have root access, i just don't know if my bootloader is unlocked with the cwm recovery.

I would say to rerun the pwnage tool and just go thru the unlock since you know you have root. If you are already unlocked and have cwm installed it'll just overwrite it again - no harm. Then try to reboot to recovery using titanium backup or rom toolbox. Rom manager seems to be a really good app but it seems to be the source of big problems for some people on the spec and since you are unsure I would recommend using one of the others.
