Get terminal emulator or use adb shell... issue reboot recovery
If it boots to cwm you're good...if it boots to stock...rerun the tool. If you can't find adb... It's in one of the subfolders in the tool.

Yes, you have to run it twice if you're not already rooted.

Just to let ALL LG Lucid users who may browse this thread..I tried this last year and ended up with a bricked LG Lucid.
It was my fault for being an idiot and trying it, but hey I got a new one, not mad and I do not blame the devs. Once again Lucid users who are new at this side of Android like I was do NOT try this.

I tried this tool after about a month from being unrooted. After running the tool twice, i updated superuser, checked if i had root access (confirmed), then downloaded rom toolbox lite to see if i can reboot to recovery. Right when i pressed reboot to recovery, the message "superuser has stopped working" popped up. I successfully rebooted to cwm! I made a backup
. My question is: Should i be worried that superuser force closed right before i enter cwm recovery?

IIRC, that error is pretty common when rebooting to recovery with an app. If you install a JB rom, you will have access to an option in the power menu to reboot to recovery.

Also, i have cwm touch 6.0.1.1 installed. When i installed rom manager, it said i had v5.0.1.1 (something like that) installed and that i needed to update to 6.0.1.1. When i entered cwm through rom toolbox, it said I have v6.0.1.1. Im confused?

There isn't a fix that is easy for it. It involves changing some stuff in the frameworks. Basically, if you want to stick with ICS, you're stuck with it. But, like you said, the JB roms are all fine.
I have tried running this tool several time now with same result. The phone is currently running Zv8 and I have successfully rooted it with the first option and see that Superuser is installed but when I run the tool again for installing the Bootloader and CWM It goes as if it is going to install then it has these errors in the attached image. I have tried 2 different usb cord still with end result. I run adb reboot recovery but CWM isn't installed. I also see that the Kernel Version is 3.0.8-cyangenmod+lge. Is that the correct kernel needed and I just need CMW to flash a diff rom? Any help would be greatly appeciated thanks in advance.

Glad to hear you got it running. Those errors are pretty typical. They are just a removal script for anything that might be left behind after the process finishes.

Good Morning! I rooted my Spectrum, and installed TiB. I've been looking through the forum for lists of what I can freeze. However, it is a process. Can I use the PWNAGE tool after rooting and installing TiB, should I unfreeze everything and uninstall TiB BEFORE running the PWNAGE tool? Or can I leave everything as is?
In other words, I don't know if I need to have my phone in it's "original state" when running the tool, or if it will just overwrite any changes I've made since rooting. And do I have to install a new ROM right away, after running the tool? Or can I just use it with CWM Touch 6.0.1.1 installed for now until I decide which ROM I want to try? Thank you for your time.

P.S. While I am at it, can I ask which ROMS could you suggest? Most stable, good functionality? I've seen AOKP and the CM10 mentioned, but which versions? Thanks again.

When running this tool, it will ask you if you are already rooted. If you are, it will unlock the boot loader and install CWM Touch. You don't have to install a new ROM right away. You can install a new ROM anytime you want. Just don't forget to backup your current system (use tar format) before installing a new ROM. You can still run this tool if you are rooted and with TiB installed.

Icy Fuzion 5.0 is very smooth, but based on stock LG ROM with android 4.0.4 ICS. I just switch to Quattrimus CM 10 and found it to be really smooth! In fact it is the only Jelly Bean ROM that runs smooth on my Spectrum. Quattrimus AOKP 41 is kinda laggy on my device, but some find it smooth on their device My device seems to be laggy on 4.2.2 ROMs also. Every spectrum tends to be different with different ROMs. Try different ROMs till you find one that suites your spectrum. A lot of people say CM 10.1.2 is really smooth too, but its laggy on mine
.PS. Dont forget to wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache before installing new rom. Also, I suggest trying the ROMs without a custom kernel first. I made the mistake by flashing a custom kernel right after I flashed the ROM/Gapps. The custom kernel might make your device really laggy.

Yes, you can just use the PWNAGE tool to unlock the boot loader and install CWM, you do not need to install a ROM. CWM is just a custom recovery, your phone will appear to be exactly the same as before you run the tool, but you'll be able to boot into recovery and perform backups and such. You need CWM to flash custom ROMs, but you can also have CWM and stay on the stock ROM. That make sense?

Absolutely. I've used a CWM before on an old tablet of mine, I kinda remember the situation. With the bootloader unlocked, you can install CWM. Then you can make backups, and install different ROMS. Sounds good to me.
I just wasn't sure if this tool simply unlocked the bootloader and installed CWM, but that you needed to have a ROM ready to install at that point. It's been years since I've played with android. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer.
Something worth noting. You will not be able to use bluetooth once you unlock the bootloader unless you run a not-stock based rom (IE CM or pac-man). The kernel we used to unlock the stock ICS does not mess well with the bluetooth drivers and it would have taken someone with a lot of knowledge to fix that.

Oh don't worry. I've read that over and over again in these forums. Thanks for the heads up. I don't utilize bluetooth anyway. The point of all my reading and questions is to migrate to a NON stock ROM anyway.
I was thinking that perhaps first I should become familiar with the method of flashing a cab to my phone to return it to stock before going any further with this.
I saw the link for returning my phone to its original state, and I've downloaded the files and instructions. I'm going to go through that process first before I do anything else. I just wish I had more time to play with my phone (work hours make that hard). You can see what time I posted this reply (just woke up). You've been more than helpful to me, and many others. Thanks again.
One last thing. At the website for the cab flashing instructions, there are several CAB files. One has the 4.0.4 prefix, which is the version number of my phone, but the website says it is GB. The last file in the list, is the 8.10 CAB file, my phone also says I am on V8. Which CAB file should I use if I have to CAB flash? Thanks yet again!!
That has confused many people... those numbers are LG/VZW firmware version numbers, so the version 4.04 firmware from LG/VZW was a gingerbread rom, and ICS wasn't brought to this phone until LG/VZW's 7th version of the firmware. You have the v8.10 firmware on your phone right now, so use that to get back to where you currently are.

Thanks!! Honestly, that is what I thought. I understand that the 4.0.4 is Gingerbread. Now I know which file to use if I get in trouble. Do you think you could outline the steps for me? NEPH81 did a good job on the blog, but like for NOOBS like me, you know. Like it says on the blog to take out your battery and your sd card, then reboot. We know to reinstall the SD card and the battery first before rebooting, but........LOL
