Root Updates for rooted evo 4g?

Well I have a Evo 4g rooted on the gingerbread update, I don't know if that's the latest root, but that what I have. I was wondering if there were any other updates out there for the rooted Evo, I just wasn't entirely sure.

what is your software version? settings>about phone>software info. the latest is gingerbread 2.3.5 or software version 4.67. and whatever you do do not accept the OTA while you are rooted. just flash a rom that has it already.

The android version is 2.3.3 if that's what you were referring to? The software version number is like 4.54.651.1. I'm so confused I thought rooting the phone would be easy, and I didn't accept the OTA update. How do I flash the rom?

it is not that bad once you get the lingo and how everything works. this is a great guide that might help you:

there is a flashing section that will show you how to flash a rom.

also you will need to have amon ra 2.3 as your recovery. if you do not know then you most likely have clockwork mod (5?) recovery as that is what revolutionary gives you. amon ra 2.3 is much better then clockwork mod IMHO.

there is a switching recoveries section that will show you how to switch to amon 2.3 as well.

and as far as roms go i would try this rom:MikG v3.1 [2/28/2012]
it is now updated to 4.67 but it has elements of sense 2.1 and sense 3.0 built in. it is very fast and stable and sooo much better the stock will ever be.

Okay well I did the dummies guide, and my version is still 2.3.3 did I do something wrong?

What do you mean by rom? Sorry I hope I'm not being a burden, I'm still learning the ropes of everything. But this was the site I used to first root my phone in January. How to Root Your HTC EVO 4G (with OTA Gingerbread Update)

a rom is like what your software is with android as your operating system. so i linked you a rom called mikg3.1. i was wondering if you flashed it or not. not really sure what you meant by the fact that you "did the dummies guide" and your are still on 2.3.3. what did you mean by that? what exactly did you do?

hi...roms r ur op systems name and kernals r the engines that run the rom...if u look in the forum u will find the ...rom and kernal link page to a large amount of different roms and kernals u should go there and look around and read up on them so as to c what available ..the thing to do is read as much as u can before u jump so u understand things cause most peoples phone is there life line.the forum is here to help so feel free to ask away and happy rooting..which rooting is just taking control of ur phone.

+1 ^^^

I read that guide and anything else I could find sooooo many times before I rooted and then again before I flashed a rom. Research, nandroid backup and don't be afraid to ask questions.
