"Upgrade" to LG Marquee?

I've had my Marquee for almost a month now, so I've got a few impressions. First of all, the screen is amazing! I thought the Prevail's screen was decent, but the difference is night and day. You can see texture on some icons on the Marquee that I didn't even know had texture on the Prevail. Second, Topken was right, Firefox is pretty slow on the Marquee. I used Dolphin HD on the Prevail and chose to stick with it on the Marquee. Third, the battery life is worse than the Prevail. I had heard (and was hoping) that it would be better, but that's not my experience. Finally, Swype makes quite a few more mistakes on the Marquee than it did on the Prevail. I don't know if the screen is less accurate or something, or if I'm just not used to the bigger screen, but I definitely have to make more corrections on the Marquee. Other than those things, I love the phone. It seems to be much more "fluid" than the Prevail. I haven't seen any lockups or restarts or anything like that. I'm definitely happy with the Marquee.

Oh, one more issue I just remembered- bluetooth is "crackly" at times. I'm sure it's the phone, because the same Blue Parrot B250-XT that performed flawlessly with the Prevail crackles with the Marquee. It's the people's voices, they almost "digitize" for a few seconds at a time, then are fine for a while. It's hard to explain. It seems to be worse at the beginning of a call, and settles down after a minute or two. As a truck driver, I need my bluetooth headset, so this is mildly aggravating but not a deal breaker. You can understand people, it's just annoying until it settles down.

Did anyone upgrade from the prevail to marquee? Did your shrinkage status change/start over? How was the upgrade procedure?

the only thing that changed when i upgraded to my marquee was that i lost my "grandfathering" of the android unlimited plan. my payments went up $5 to cover the difference. i had seen on here that with enough calls and b****ing that you can get the people in CS to fix that, but i didnt think it was worth my time.

other than that i have had NO complaints with my phone. i have seen some people say that the battery life was worse with the marquee, but i really havent seen any noticeable difference. i run juice defender on the marquee and also had it on the prevail

You have to remember that swype learns the more that you use it.
Its that your starting a new.
Don't blame the phone.

One thing though.
Does the bluetooth have more control on the maquee then the prevail?
I want to connect to my pc by bluetooth. Prevail doesn't work.

And maybe that old bluetooth is an older version compared to marquees bluetooth?

Bluetooth WILL work from PC to Prevail or vice versa . I use it . :p

Might just be your bluetooth .

Been more than a month and the battery life is horrid. That's with juice defender pro and other tweaks to try and save some battery. Thinking about buying a larger battery, but the batteries I've seen look a little shady and I don't want the phone to get bulky as I already have a nice case for it....What do I do!?

Just buy an additional battery and keep it charged so if you need to swap them you just pop the charged one in when needed. That's what I've always done since I really don't like the larger batteries bulking up the phone.

mine is a 2.1 bluetooth. xP
it was the latet thing! Dx
i hope its not. the old phones connect easily.. just not my prevail xP

Just a quick note . I use CM7 when transferring data via bluetooth . If you are using CTMod , I haven't tried it yet . I've just tried my bluetooth earpiece . It works fine .

I really don't do A LOT of bluetooth data transfers since it easier and faster to just connect it via USB .

The Prevail 2 is coming out next month (Feb 23) for Boost

It has 1.6 Ghz dual core CPU, 4G WiMax, ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) 2 GB RAM, 12 GB internal storage, comes with 32 GB class 10 SD card, dual camera 5mp and 3mp, 4.3 screen with Gorilla Glass

It will retail for $324.99 and there is a $150.00 rebate from Samsung

You will need to pay an extra 5 dollars a Month to be able to use the 4G Wimax, but it is optional

Unfortunately this is not occurring in this Universe, but in a parallel Universe very similar to ours where everything is awesome and Ron Paul is president

To bad, that all sounded so good

Just saw the LG Marquee is available for boost and thinking about buying it. Haven't seen much on their board about rooting but i'm sure it's possible. I love my prevail, but it gets a little slow for me. Just asking for opinions; would you buy it?

I bought the marquee and I actually went thru 2 of them the battery life sucks and the phone was over heating to the point where I could not charge it, so just and fyi the battery life is the worst that I have seen on an android phone and believe me I have used tons of different androids for different carriers..and this is bar far the worst. The battery would bearly last half a day and I did not have my wii fi or my location on. I even went to the extreme and downloaded a battery saver app to see if that helped. It did but basically it stopped all communication so it was like whats the point if I cant use it. SO needless to say I returned my second marquee and I am done..It really nice to look at but thats as far as it goes. :(

I think quite possibly it may be individual phones that have problems rather than the whole line. I have had my Marquee for a month and have had no problems out of it. Monster has made a deodexed and debloated stock based rom and it has made the phone very snappy. I run wifi and gps most of the time for my job and I can go all day on a charge with no problem. I am actually at 63% and its been off the charger since 7:30 this morning. I run google maps most of the day as well.

I'm definitely sticking with the prevail. We checked the marque out at the store just doesn't offer enough to upgrade. Plus there is so much available for the prevail. I'm rooted running ctmod 3.3, koumakernel 2.4 Overclocked with /data mounted to SD I couldn't ask for a whole lot more. My phone was levitating the other day lol
