"Upgrade" to LG Marquee?

Just saw the LG Marquee is available for boost and thinking about buying it. Haven't seen much on their board about rooting but i'm sure it's possible. I love my prevail, but it gets a little slow for me. Just asking for opinions; would you buy it?
 
I belive i read Marquee has best hardware specs of all the boost phones out...also i think they have already rooted the sprint version..im sure their pretty much the same...so if they havent rooted the boost version im sure it wont be long:D
 
I was just looking at it too. It's bit more than I'd like to spend but it sure seems nice. Aside from price I'm sure the different positioning of the home button on LG and Samsung phones would drive me nuts for a few weeks.
 
I have already ordered my Marquee. I love my little prevail, but wanted something bigger and faster. I will try and let you know what I think of the phone when I get it and have used it for a few days. I will still be looking around on this forum, as to I am giving the Prevail to my wife.
 
Ha, I couldnt wait. I ordered mine and expect it tomorrow. I purchased it from the boost mobile site, so I have 30 days to tinker with it and decide if i'll keep it.

That placement of home and menu is also switched on the warp, and other larger screen phones, after thinking about it I believe it is for easy access, you normally hold the phone in your right hand and that larger screen some peoples thumbs may not make it all the way over to the menu/home in the far left side, or if they do its mashing the other buttons too.


Even giving that it has a purpose it is a bitch to get used too :D

The Prevail 2 is coming out next month (Feb 23) for Boost

It has 1.6 Ghz dual core CPU, 4G WiMax, ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) 2 GB RAM, 12 GB internal storage, comes with 32 GB class 10 SD card, dual camera 5mp and 3mp, 4.3 screen with Gorilla Glass

It will retail for $324.99 and there is a $150.00 rebate from Samsung

You will need to pay an extra 5 dollars a Month to be able to use the 4G Wimax, but it is optional

Unfortunately this is not occurring in this Universe, but in a parallel Universe very similar to ours where everything is awesome and Ron Paul is president

Well, my Marquee is on the way too. The battery life is supposed to be great on them, that will be a welcome change! I just hope some of the awesome devs that are working on the Prevail will jump ship over to the Marquee with us. I'm planning on keeping my Prevail and using it like a little Tablet.
 
Too funny on the "Prevail 2"
Had a hardon until the very last sentence. Looking to buy Marquee and give Prevail to the wife. With the larger processor, will Marquee run adobe flash and firefox?
 
the processor speed has nothing to do with flash working... it is the processor type. the prevail has an armv6 (arm11) processor adobe does not support it. if the Marque also has armv6 then, the hacked version is all you got.

cant say yay or nay to firefox
 
I think it'll run Firefox. I'm pretty sure the only thing holding the Prevail back from Firefox is the RAM, Firefox wants at least 512MB of RAM, which the Marquee has.

And Hroark, that was a good one with the Prevail 2. You had me going, I was drooling until the end...
 
Firefox v10 runs horrible on my nook tablet which happens to be a dualcore Omap 4430 with 1gb of ram and trying to run firefox is horriible it lags and the touches dont come out right and i know its not the nook as everything else works just fine with it. So I doubt the lg can do much better

Hadn't actually thought of it that way. Is the Marquee that much larger to require such a move though?

It's a 4" screen, I dont know how much out side edge it has so I would say it probably only is problem for women, or those with medium or smaller hands.
I have larger sized hands and its not a problem for me, my wife has the lg esteem, used to be my old optimus m and that one they placed the menu at the far left like the optimus and the prevail and I can reach it fine as well.
my wife has a bit of a harder time though.

I went to my local sprint store (seems in my area no boost dealers have live demo phones set up) and its a big difference our little Prevails are not that much bigger than the Marquee's screen alone. Knowing the specs on the Marquee and hearing all the complains on the Warp, soon as I got the cash in hand its byby Prevail.
 
The Marquee is amazing, I have had mine for 2 weeks and am so glad I got it. The Prevail was nice but the internal memory was very bad. The Marquee has 3gb and now I am able to download games and apps without the screen saying not enough storage. It was well worth the price. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am. Good luck!
 
i would defiently get the marquee if your looking to upgrade from the prevail. the prevail was a good phone for the price, but it doesnt have much ram, reliability is an issue (im just replaced mine before switching to virgin) and the camera straight up sucks. my friend has the marquee so ive messed with it, its a much better phone. samsung phones are nice but i dont think they are quite as durable as LG but thats my opinion

i was in the process of upgrading my phone to the marquee when i lost my shrinkage, got pissed and switched to virgin mobile.
