Help USB Connection Dilema

Usually when I connect my hero to a computer or something, it asks me if I want disk drive or charge only etc...it's randomly stopped doing that now and I already set it to do so in the settings. Why is this happening?

same problem exactly, and my screen has stopped working, so i need to get it to connect to my computer so i can unroot it and sent it back for repair

What have you "set it to do in the settings"? To get the connection menu to appear again you'll have to "clear defaults" on (iirc) HTC Sync in Settings/Applications/Application Management.

How to do that please? going to Settings/Applications/Application Management We Can see "HTC Sync" there. We can stop it but cannot find the option to clear defaults.

I'm also facing the same problem in HTC hero.

It's at the bottom of the page, under Cache. There's a Launch by default section, with a Clear defaults button.

Have you tried connecting it to your PC with another cable? I had similar problem which was solved when I changed the cable.
